Pages have bext to diddly squat when it comes to Google juice. Posts are Google juicy. Pages sit outside the blog structure and they are for static content that rarely, if ever, changes. We cannot assign either Tags or Categories which are treated the same way by search engines to Pages. We can only assign them to posts. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/tags/ If you care about SEO then read this > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/05/12/better-blogging-at-wordpress-com-pages-and-posts/

I think if you are getting on page three that is not so bad, but I understand. I'm usually getting comments (spam?) that recommends some kind of SEO to increase ranking but I don't know if a free wordpress blog can do better then by tags. i think your question about html is a good one and probably possible if you know what you are doing in code. Keywords are one way to improve search ranking. Keywords (tags) and content should match. I don't know everything about it but there are some good sites for checking on SEO that are free. Hubspot is one. Good luck, I like your blog and I like to cook, too. I'm not the fussy eater in my house though. I usually end up cooking two meals. Cheers. --Jeff

I'm new to this, so I might be missing something. I've noticed that at best, my blog show up on the 3rd or 4th page of searches that I would like to show up higher on. Is there a way to get posts to show up higher in search rankings? Is it based on tags? Can free WordPress hosted blogs include HTML code to boost search ranking? How are others getting better search ranking?
