First, please make sure that your browser is up to date by visiting http://whatbrowser.org/

If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.

If it is, please do these four things:

1. Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies: http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you're using if you're still having trouble.

no, the player works fine. the problem is that every page on wordpress.com seems to have said header set and cannot be displayed in an iframe. i cant see the reason for this, given that your very own videopress plugin does just that...display everything in an iframe.

any plans to fix this? at the moment there is absolutely no way for me to upload videos through my selfhosted blog. but i have to login to the wordpress.com blog, do everything there and then copy the embed-code over. that used to be A LOT more convenient...

well, this solution is completely useless to me since one big reason to use the popup in the first place is to do video uploading and thumbnail choosing there.

what is the reason behind that sameorigin header? this makes the whole popup in the videopress plugin unusable. at the moment it seems as if the popup shows me the login-page again, but i cannot login anymore. any reason why videopress integration for selfhosted pages is so broken at the moment? it used to work fine a month ago...

hi,

it seems to me that videopress startet delivering their pages (at least the login page) with a x-frame-origin header of "SAMEORIGIN". This is a problem for selft hosted blogs that only use videopress through the plugin. The plugin opens a popup that includes an iframe that should display the login page but does not anymore since the above header nicely asks the browser to not display it.

is there any way around this? this seems really badly broken...

1) If you are not hosted on WordPress.COM then yes you can install your own theme (there are a couple of exceptions based on the host)
2) WordPress.ORG software is free

Howdy!

Your best bet is to probably use some sort of plugin on your self-hosted WordPress.org blog to import your content from your WordPress.com blog--this one seems like it might do the trick.

As an alterative, you might consider mapping your domain to your WordPress.com blog, so traffic from both sources go to the same place.

Best,

I have the wordpress hosted blog http://www.jakobbelbin.wordpress.com and I also have my own website which is a self hosted wordpress blog http://www.jakobbelbin.com.

I want both blogs so I get traffic from the wordpress hosted blog as well as from the website, but how do I automatically get them to synchronise with eachother.

At the moment I just export from the .wordpress.com blog and then import from the self hosted blog but it doesnt always work well, sometimes fails, and is more hassle than I want.

I want a way which will automatically update the other blog when I update one of them.

Please let me know your ideas!!!

Thanks

Self-hosting means that you have hired your own web hosting service such as godaddy, bluehost, dreamhost, etc., and then you have installed and configured the wordpress software from wordpress.ORG (they do not host sites). That means that you are responsible for everything (installations, upgrades, backups and troubleshooting). It will also cost you about $10 to $25 per month, all things considered, and it does take a bit of "web" knowledge since stuff can happen (bad plugin or theme, site gets hacked, an upgrade goes wrong).

Plugins cannot be used at wordpress.COM. Plugins are for self-hosted sites only.

Buying or having your own domain name mapped to a site here does not change any of the rules or restrictions since your site is still physically located at wordpress.com. To get away from those restrictions, you have to move completely off of wordpress.COM.

I've spent hours and hours researching how to make websites, how to use WordPress, etc, and I am still very confused about the whole "self-hosted" WordPress.

I believe self-hosted WordPress is through wordpress.org instead of wordpress.com. But I'm still confused... Is this the only way for a WordPress site to be self-hosted? What if my domain name is through a different site, such as websitepalace.com, but is hosted through WordPress? Is this "self-hosted" or not?

Thank you for your help on this.

Should be a simple fix - however:

The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.

http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/7-things-to-know-before-posting-in-wordpresscom-forums?replies=1

This site is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM. You should address your questions to WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using: http://wordpress.org/support/
