Hi all, Is anybody still getting this error? I still have a problem with it and it has been ongoing for about a week now! Resetting the modem above didn't work for me unfortunately! Help....... :-)

Try clearing your browser cache and cookies > http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
disabling browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled
then logging in using the secure https:// log-in see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

This is exactly my problem. I've done 1 and 2 without any results.

1) Disable AdBlock

2) Enable https http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

One or both should do the trick.

I have cleared all cookies and cache from my browser Firefox and still there is interruptions with sign saying
"The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading" This is a real pain and very frustrating!

I am having the same problem. My issue is my self hosted domain has expired, I have moved my files from the domain onto my desktop, but can't find the correct xml file to add to my wordpress.com
My initial self hosted site was http://www.holisticempath.info. I want to put it at reikiempath.wordpress.com
I have the files, but don't know where the xml is located to upload it on the wordpress.com site.
Any help Macman....lol

Update:

I approached our service provider for a solution. There was nothing wrong with my firewall setting or my cookie setting etc etc. I was asked to reset our modem - not just turning it off and on at the power point, but a hard reset so that all the settings revert to factory default. Then I had to reconfigure our modem with the username and password to get the internet connection back. Now wordpress works fine on all browsers! Dashboard loads properly with all icons. I am post, edit and reply on comments. I am able to browse my Dashboard without any timeout errors. My solution may or may not help you, but just wanted to update.

How are you connecting to the interent and to WordPress.com (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) ?

Wow, that was fast. It worked! Now I have to fix the internal links to redirect to the jenpenm.wordpress.com blog instead of the old one, but that should be easy.

I'm trying Internet Explorer right now. I've gotten further than I did in Firefox. Now it's telling me "Processing… We're processing your import now and will send you an email when it's all done. If you don't hear from us within 24 hours, please contact support, and we'll get everything fixed."

Hm, that should work. Just so we can rule out a browser-specific issue, would you please try a different browser, like Chrome?

I don't want to self-host my blog anymore at http://jenpenm.com, so I set up a free-hosted one (https://jenpenm.wordpress.com/) and want to import all of my old blog's stuff.

I followed the steps clearly lined out here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/ under the second section Moving From WordPress.org but get stuck on the last step. When I select the XML file and click "upload file and import" I get an error screen that says:

The connection was reset

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

The problem isn't with my internet provider or Firefox since I can still open other tabs and browse other websites without any issues. I've tried at different times of night and day and nothing seems to work. HELP!!

I really need to get this blog and another one moved so I don't have to pay for hosting for another year.

In the last month we started receiving constant errors: "The connection was reset - The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." Sometimes I have to click "Try Again" a dozen times before the page will load. It never used to do this. I tried setting up a blog on blogspot.com and it works beautifully. I would like to stay with WordPress but it will not be possible if these errors continue. It's timing out or something way too quickly on your servers. PLEASE FIX this problem.
