Hi, I'd like to create a Showcase page with sticky posts but on the second page, as I still want to keep my latest blog posts on the front page. Is this possible? When I want to change a post to Sticky, it says "Stick to Front Page" and I don't want it there. Also, my Featured post appears as a full post and not a summary!

Hola,
Ya tenia configurado el Showcase y mostraba mi primer entrada bien, pero cuando puse la segunda, no apareció, se mantenía con el primero, las dos estaban en la misma categoría y marcadas como fijas y con su imagen pprincipal, por cuestiones de lectura desactive el slide por el momento.
Espero su ayuda

@rain: Not on Oxygen. Sticky goes to slider.

@jshao: A post cannot show twice on the same page. Your only two posts show in the featured posts slider, as they should. The Recent posts section displays the latest three regular (non-sticky) posts.

How many sticky posts do you have? When you have more than one, it can confuse the theme.

Does anyone know how to get the sticky posts on the showcase page (featured image banner) to show up under recent articles? I just posted two new blog posts and made them sticky, but neither of them are showing up under recent posts. Seems kind of odd to me!

I am also having problems with trying to center my hearder image and the slider to work. I've tried all of the instructions and yet nothing works.

Hi.
I am having a problem with the showcase sidebar in Duster theme. The sidebar is appearing below the last post in the page, not in the beginning of the page as it should appear.

The only options I saw were "front-page, bookmarks, archives, and full-page". Can someone please tell me how to get the "showcase" option to appear?

I'm sorry to bring this up (as I know it has been brought up countless times already), but I have read through the directions for this and then the support posts ad nauseum and this search has driven me up the wall because I have no idea what exactly I haven't done.

This is what I HAVE done:

Created four posts, each has a featured image that is at least 720px wide if not EXACTLY 720px wide.

I created a page called "Home", set the template to Showcase.

I set my static page and posts to "Home"

I went to my posts and made them sticky.

The posts disappear from the stream and there is no hint of a Showcase Slider anywhere... I've searched and searched and changed my settings countless times today which is why I am resorting to asking a forum.

What exactly did I skip doing that has caused the slider to not work? Trying to figure this out on my own is seriously making me feel crazy.

1) To turn your front into the special showcase page of the theme, you create a blank page, select the showcase template from the pulldown in the Page Attributes module of the page editor, publish the page, then you go to Settings > Reading and set your front to display that page.

2) The (optional) slider is designed to highlight some important posts (up to six). To make a post show in the slider, you mark it as a sticky and you set a suitably sized featured image to it.
When you create or edit a post, the sticky option is found in the Publish module of the post editor if you click "Edit" next to "Publish". To turn a post into a sticky after you have published it, you go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the post title, click Quick Edit, check the option "Make this post sticky", click Update.

3) The "recent articles" section automatically displays your latest three non-sticky posts; these posts also need to have a featured image. The "more articles" section automatically displays a further group of recent posts; the number of posts it displays is set in Settings > Reading. Naturally, if you haven't published enough posts, these sections will be empty or under-populated.

hi, I'm stuck on how to populate the Recent Articles and More Articles sections on the showcase template. I've figure out how to get the images into the carousel but nothing automatically appears as a Recent Article or More Article - like is shown in the demo. Is this because I don't have enough posts yet to populate that section or is there some place I can't find where you ID which posts would appear in these sections? thanks for any help!

I recently switched to the Oxygen theme and I really like its aesthetics, but it just doesn't seem to do what I want. Here's a list of some of the limitations I've found. If you know anything more about these or have similar frustrations, please comment.

--Using "Showcase" via making posts "sticky" is clumsy. If I make more than 6 posts sticky then not only do they not appear in the Showcase, but they also disappear from "recent articles." This means when I make new posts sticky, I have to go into old posts and make them "unsticky" if I want them to show up on the showcase page at all.

--No infinite scroll when using showcase. I really like the infinite scroll layout when the front page is set to display latest posts. When I set it to a static showcase page, there is no more infinite scroll :(

--No Full Width Page posts. Under layout, I've made posts display as a static page that I've made with the template of full width page. However, it doesn't matter what I set this template to, the posts all display the same (which is a 3-column format). My blog is all about photos so I'd really like to have either full width or at least reclaim on of the columns.

There are a few less important ones, but these are the main issues for me. If I am mistaken on any of them and they are possible, please let me know. Note I do not have the CSS upgrade and don't plan to buy it. If you know of a similar-looking theme that allows these features, I'd love to know about it. Thanks!

Perhaps it is best that I leave the CSS manipulation to the experts and concentrate on the ballet!

You can change the font size of your sidebar headings by adding this code and modifying the size to get your desired effect:

h3.widget-title { font-size: 12px; }

You can modify the text size in your text widgets by adding this code and again modifying the size to something you like:

.textwidget { font-size: 12px; }

I use the theme Twenty Eleven with a Showcase page with sidebar widget menu.
How can I increase both the font size of the sidebar HEADINGS, which I believe are H3 font style, and also increase the font size of the TEXT under the headings please?
On my Welcome page in particular (http://all4ballet.com) I would like to increase the widget text body font size under the two headings 'QUOTE' and 'THANK YOU TO MY SPONSORS'
