Ah, an example is always so helpful! You should always include an example link whenever possible. :)

Here is the CSS you're looking for:

.page-template-sidebar-page-php .hentry {
	border-bottom: none;
}

Also, watch out for the order of the words. In your example above, the border rule in the 2nd code block you posted is incorrect. It should be "border-bottom" not "bottom-border." I see that your question isn't about that specifically, but it was just something I wanted to mention for other people who may read this thread later.

No, I typed it incorrectly in the code here, I typed it correctly in the CSS. I need to know what has to be targeted for hentry for the sidebar template, only, not for the overall site.

See the line? I also see the little "edit" box, which I don't see on default template pages. (It happens whether on a page that enables or disables comments.)

Note that you reversed the order of the words from border-bottom to bottom-border in your example. Try sticking with the exact phrase "border-bottom" to see if that works.

If you continue to have trouble, please post a link showing an example we can take a look at.

Hi - I have CSS upgrade.

I'd like to change my parent (and perhaps other) pages from "default" to "sidebar" template, but testing shows that it has the border-bottom that shows with posts on the main page, this:

.hentry { border-bottom: 1px solid #CBD8F4; }

I don't know what to target to make

.hentry { bottom-border: none; }

for sidebar template. Or is there anything else that would work?

Edit each page, select the Sidebar template from the pulldown in the Page Attributes module, click Update.

How do I get my widget to appear on all of the pages of my blog? The "facebook" widget is only appearing on the "News" page - I would like it to appear as a side bar on every page ... How do I do that?Thanks

Old themes had sibars on each and every page in a blog but that slows down page loading time. In some new themes there are options not to display a sidebar on pages and that's what you have done on the page in question. You have selected the Twenty Eleven theme and it does not display sidebar on single posts.

When it comes to pages you can edit the page and in the Page attributes box in the far right hand column you can change that Template by selecting "sidebar template" and the clicking "update. Please do read the Twnety Eleven article I linked to as there are other special features on that theme.

In fact the sidebar does not show up on each page that contains the widgets, except under my 'inspiration' tab. Do I need to turn something on on each page?

Twenty Eleven leaves sidebars off of posts and pages to highlight your content and proudly feature the magic that happens between your writing and your visitor’s comments. That said, sometimes you just want a sidebar on your pages. Selecting the custom Sidebar Template for your page will do just that.

decided on a new theme...usually had 2010 theme....but considered the 2011 one for he bigger header. However I am having trouble getting up the side bar as in the first link - my website is below that one. Thanks
