I've just used the desktop version of the editor to fix problems. This happened with other posts before, too, but those had not many lines of code and I fixed it without getting that much upset :)

I have recently stumbled upon a very unfortunate misbehavior of the iOS app. When updating the post, it automatically replaces special HTML characters inside the sourcecode snippets. For example, «<» becomes «<» etc. Then the blog post displays that for a user, making it impossible to read the code. This surely is a big problem for at least C and C++ programmers (because those languages are full of quotes and “<>” symbols) posting a lot of code snippets (like me). It would be nice if somebody could fix this.

I suggest that the font size should be made to the previous size. With the previous size and the monospace font the code is perfectly readable. Can it be reverted back to the previous font size ?

I have been able to add the gif file onto the site but am unsure where the HTML excerpt should actually go? I found a help topic from wordpress.com regarding this but am still unclear.

If you view the edit history, you will see when I've corrected it. From what I can ascertain, it seems that the ampersand at the start of '& quot ;' gets html encoded to '& amp quot;' at some point so that in the code blocks what should show as " ends up displaying '& quot ;'

I inserted a photo from the media gallery - the recommended photos. After the first photo, there was no change in the source code section - the regular expression looked correct. Then, I inserted a second photo, and that is when the bad replacements started happening. When I inserted a third photo, every ampersand was replaced by &, so it just sort of devolved from there.

I'm not sure what would happen if I just inserted a photo from the media library, rather than the media gallery. I have a hunch I could get around this by inserting the image, copying to my desktop, saving to my media library and inserting from there, but that is really a convoluted workaround. I haven't tried that, but my hunch is that because the recommendation engine must be parsing my text, there is a lot of interaction with the text and code that wouldn't happen if I just inserted from media gallery, but you'll know better than I will.
