There is no FTP access to our free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we cannot install plugins. We cannot use Microsoft or Google translation widgets or any others, as they are JavaScript and it's stripped out to preserve security on this multiuser blogging platform. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/

If you are bilingual or multilingual and want to publish your free hosted WordPress.com in two or more languages but do not want to rely on machine translation that can be done. You can have two or more blogs in different languages and interlink them via custom menus. hello,

i have read a few articles about multi lingual options and pluggings but i do no really know the one that suites me.

Actually i want to make my site in two (maybe even 3 languages) because my prospect visitors are from different countries. I will translate the posts myself so no need for auto translate.

Ideally would automatically (im a beginner user) set up the same page in two languages with the option to change with a button (like flags for the country language) from one to another.

Every time i will make a post, page, subpage or whatsoever will ask me the language and i will choose one or another.

is that possible? or at least something similar?

there are so many options out there that for the ones that we dont know a lot is not easy to chose.

So one of my fellow bloggers recently translated a few of our blog entries to Spanish and published them on our site.

His posts then automatically sent these to all of our followers, some of whom complained about getting posts in Spanish.

Is there a way to allow people who prefer Spanish to get separate e-mails from those who prefer English?

Hi. I'm not sure where this problem actually originates -- Feedburner or WordPress -- but I will assume that wherever the settings are awry, it's operator error! I'm just not sure where to fix whatever settings are causing the RSS Feed emails from my own blog to show up in Spanish. The blog content isn't in Spanish in the RSS email, just the subject line, greeting, closing, and various other parts of the email that are on behalf of WordPress. Can anyone give me some guidance? Thanks.

How is it best for me to run my blog in multi-languages?

My company will be ghost writing for clients in English, Spanish, Russian, and Ukrainian over the next 6 weeks.

I would like to push my blog into those languages as we support our clients.

Is there a different way to post into other languages? Do I just write in parallel languages (side by side, mano a mano)?

Or, should I build different blogs in different languages?

Or do I just post separate blog posts in each language?

I have a blog that is in Spanish and has a translator that allows visitors to select the /en/ version of the site. However, when they click the RSS button, the feed is displayed in the native Spanish of the blog. How can I fix this so that those that visit myblog.com/en/ can get the feed in English and those that visit myblog.com get the Spanish version?

I have been searching but unable to find any information related to it. Thank you.

Alguien puede ayudarme?
No puedo subir imagenes a mi blog. Elijo la imagen, la carga, y queda la barra de carga "calculando..." y no sube.
Intente subir a la biblioteca, galerias y al nuevo post directamente. Ninguna de estas maneras funciona. Queda eternamente "calculando.."

I think it would be a good improvement if the reader could have the option to change the whole language of the blog he's reading but without having to create another blog. Just by pressing a button or something, and that the whole interface changed language. So that the blog could have a wider market to access.

Ok, thanks!, it wasn´t the browser but the company where I registered the domain name (quierohacerfotos.com) which I forward to quierohacerfotos.wordpress.com

It was your post about the framing that "brought my ears up", thank you :)

I tested entering quierohacerfotos.wordpress.com in Facebook and it looked beautiful! Then tested again with http://www.quierohacerfotos.com and then it´s when the strange characters showed up again.

I´m doing some tests but the solution has been found, thanks again, I will definitely get more deeply into learning about frames.

This is what I see on my Safari and Firefox browsers in the title bar of the browser.

The problem is with your browser. Go into the preferences and find the character encoding and set it to UTF-8.

See this validation report. At the very least you need to take care of the issues it lists otherwise the search engines are going to virtually ignore your framed page.

Seriously though, I strongly suggest mapping the domain name to the blog here rather than the frame.
