This is a bug specific to "retina" or Hi-DPI devices (like iPad, iPhone, and some newer Macbooks). We're aware of the problem but don't have a fix quite yet. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your patience while we work on it!

Just checked in on my blog from Safari on iPad and noticed that the photos on the image slider on the main page are stretched horizontally. Anyway to fix that? Admittedly, I haven't looked at the blog in different browsers, so how knows maybe this is also happening elsewhere...

However, now there is a white space at the top of the header unfortunately.

I uploaded a photo at 1100px by 288px in my library and used it as my
default header under Appearances > Header. It still looks stretched and slightly pixelated.

I then set the header image as one of the default pictures. Then I added in this piece of CSS (image is 1100px by 288px) and the header is still stretched:

Any other ideas?

I've widened the page / one-column width of my blog and widened the primary column and sidebar width too.

As you can see, the header image is stretched. Is there a way to unstretch it? Or do I have to upload another header that is wider in length?

One note on Mystique is that there are a lot of image elements in the design of that theme, which means that in addition to requiring CSS editing to widen it, it also typically requires modification or editing of, or recreation of those image elements.

I am using my blog as a website and having issues with Mystique. I am using 1 column + side bar on the right, and on both sides there is about 2.5 inches of background showing. I want to "stretch" the width of the column and side bar so that you see less background. This is also true on the demo version of Mystique. Is there a way to 'stretch' it so less background shows, or perhaps is there a better theme for me to use? Thanks!

If things are really long, then you can use pagination instead of just the single read more tag. That would allow you to break it up into multiple parts.

Suppose I want to insert a lengthy Email (or ticket) conversation,
some parts of which are not essential but cannot be ommitted b/c the context might be lost...

Using google chrome on this laptop, your latest posted looks correct.

Those earlier posted pictures on your homepage look still look distorted,
perhaps if you reduce the sizes of the images they will render correctly.
