Hi

I'm having a bit of trouble here with my blog site. I want to list categories for my post for users to easier to navagate the website. I write tech news, and have an Apple category. Under the category, I should have 3 sub caregories so when a user hovers over the Apple category, the sub caregories should show up. However, only one sub category comes up, and I want to know why only one of them comes up? I have post for 2 of the categories I listed, and they are the parent of the Apple category, but only one of them shows up.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

There are two approaches you can use. This first one is when you only have Pages.
Page Order - Page attributes module order numerically rather than alphabetically.

This appraoch is for those who have created a custom menu and have added pages to that custom menu.
create a custom menu http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
add the pages and sub-pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-pages
order them http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#changing-the-order-of-menu-items-and-creating-sub-menus

If you have a custom menu then you must establish consistency. Check the Pages sub-pages themselves to see if you have established a Parent page and child page “hierarchical structure” in the page attributes module. Remove if required.

Also remove any “order” numbers you have assigned that may conflict with the order you are creating by dropping and dragging. Or simply change them so they are the same order as you establish in the menu. Establish consistency – problem solved

Hi

I have installed WordPress on Ubuntu Server 12:10. Installation was flawless, but I get a weird error when accessing other pages than the front page and /wp-admin. I get this cryptic text i the browser window:

CRIPT language=JavaScript> var job = location.host + location.pathname; var job = job.replace(/ /g, '+'); window.location = 'http://websearch.linksys.com/?eg=' + '1296802191' + '&job=' + job;

My router is a Linksys and since this name is mentioned, I guess the problem is in my router. Or...?

Does anybody have a clue about what is going on?

In the little useless help pop-up for 'Pages' it says

'Pages are similar to posts in that they have a title, body text, and associated metadata, but they are different in that they are not part of the chronological blog stream, kind of like permanent posts. Pages are not categorized or tagged, but can have a hierarchy. You can nest pages under other pages by making one the “Parent” of the other, creating a group of pages.'

Just what I want, except...how do I create the heirarchy and how do I nest pages under a parent?

Thank you for your assistance!

I have created two additional pages under "Video Tutorials" called "Gillingham Video Tutorials " and "Maidstone Video Tutorials". I am happy for these individual sub-pages to have those titles, but is there any way that when I hover the mouse over "Video Tutorials" that the drop-down options only say Gillingham and Maidstone. Many thanks to anyone that can help. Mike

You are correct: we cannot use plugins here on wp.com. But we can have collapsing menus.
Take a look at making sub pages:
