If the ads you see are found at the end of blog posts then provided you see this small About These Ads link http://en.wordpress.com/about-these-ads/ then what you are seeing is WordPress.com generated advertising.

Please also note that it's possible for ads to appear in your browser that were not placed there by WordPress.com. These ads are sometimes caused by malware or a virus, but more often it is due to a browser extension or toolbar that you may have installed in your browser. WordPress.com does not use text enhance or text link ads or pop-up ads or links in comments. That's not possible. We bloggers cannot dictate which ads are placed on our blogs nor can we dictate where they are placed. However, we can purchase an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade to eliminate all WordPress.com initiated ads form our blogs.

I wish to have the adsense ads on my page moved further down. They are at the top and are the first thing your eyes go to. They have nothing to do with the content of the site, and sometimes the ad is somewhat offensive (dating services, etc.). I understand the need for adsense ads, and that's fine. However, I thought they were supposed to be at the bottom or towards the bottom of the wordpress blog, not at the top and super large...

I know that one of the rules of wordpress.com is not to be a commercial
honest purpose of this blog is simply a medium of information for a competition held in my campus
exactly what I wanted to do was just to upload a file the file needs to be downloaded competition easily, but maybe there was a slight error and differences in perception

...it might have something to do with you publishing other people's essays without their permission. But that's a guess. Click the link on your dashboard and find out.

I see http://lightningoak.wordpress.com just fine.

For buttons and such that are not working correctly, or odd things coming up when you click on links, if you are using Chrome especially, disable all add-ons and then turn them back on one at a time to see if it is one of them that is causing the problems. It seems that Google has slipped in an add-on or two that have to do with ads and such (a youtube add-on was the culprit in one very recent case).

Yep it worked, had to clear the cache etc first, before it wasn't letting me log out. I don't think it's saying that you / me / whoever is seeing the message has violated the terms of service, I think somebody has hacked the stats button to link to their horrible bot advert blog and now that bot blog has been blocked for violation of terms of service.

Mine seems to be working fine now. Thanks for the advice.

Good to know I would be able to work with them if I were suspended. But it seems to be emerging that we're not suspended at all. And there is no dashboard link.

It's beginning to look like a hack or a bug. Will be interested to know if the logout/back does indeed work.

There should be a link in the message in the dashboard to contact WordPress.com. That link will send your message directly to the TOS department. WordPress will work with you. Only in extreme cases do they suspend a site and then not work with someone to get it back to them.

Thanks to both, but I seem to have it a degree worse than you two. I tried this and it didn't work.

Relieved you had the same effect though. I suppose that if I've accessed from another machine the blog isn't suspended in any case.

Funny thing: I can't even sign out using the dropdown from my name at top right! The suspended screen comes up.

I logged out and back from the meta widget. Knew there was a reason I had one.

But I'm not any further ahead for it...

I have this problem too, When I logged in this morning my stats button linked to an obvious bot site with a randomly generated name and loads of adverts posted. Now that site has been blocked by wordpress (I'm getting the same message about terms of service violations) but I still can't access my stats. Gonna try the log in / out method, just thought the wordpress people might wanna know.

Same here, I cleared my browsing history and cache. Everything is back to normal. Or as Normal as it will ever get on my site.

I've accessed the blog now from another computer, looks like the world is still seeing it. But still cannot access .com stats page with the suspended one intervening.

Hi there,

I'm hoping for some help if possible.

Today when I log onto my blog everythng seems fine. When I go to the dashboard, fine. But when I click anything about stats that would switch me to the wordpress.com site, I get a "wordpress.com is no longer available" screen, saying: "This blog has been archived or suspended for a violation of our Terms of Service."

If I click that "Terms of Service" link I just go right to that screen again, I can't access the terms themselves. This plus the fact that the blog itself is still running makes me wonder if this isn't a weird bug.

If not, I have no idea what I've done, how can I find out and fix it? I can't even seem to access the terms of service to guess my transgression -- if any...

What is going on? Does anyone know?

Hey, I know lots of people have posted about this, I don't want to be annoying but would like a solution?

When I logged into wordpress today I was redirected to some spammy site promoting sony or something going by the name of pjsksudjnj or similar. Then I managed to get to my blog, but when I tried to get into reader I was told that "wordpress.com is no longer available, this blog has been archived for breaching ts &cs). I left reader, looked at dashboard- all okay, went into reader again- all okay. But, when I tried to log out I was presented with the same- "wordpress.com is no longer available" screen.

I tried to contact wordpress via the apparent link under "please read this Support document" saying basically what I have said above- that this page was coming up, that I have quite a boring little blog which just talks about my life in the country and visiting museums, and that I can't see how ts & cs have been breached. When I pressed submit I was presented with a creepy message- "are you sure you want to do this?"

Went back into my dashboard, changed my password but same page keeps coming up in different places.

I saw on another post you said something about individual countries having different blocking systems. I live in the UK where there is really no problem with posting about museums and meringues and knitting or whatever I usually talk about.

Am worried like a lot of people that my account has been hacked or infected or something awful! Couldn't see any way of contacting someone except through the forum, so here it is.

yeah, same here. I had one post people were actually reading and suddenly I get suspended? all I have are a few links to news articles, to legit sites, couple youtube links, the rest are my own original writing and art. sent an email asking why my blog was suspended and how to restore it. I hope this gets resolved soon, I'd also like to know who flagged me or suspended me so I can file a dispute/complaint against them.

I have been working on my blog today and as far as I am aware I have not breached the TOS? (If I have done so then it was unknowingly and I am profusely sorry) but I am beyond devastated to find that my blog has been suspended.

I have worked on collecting all my recipes for the past two years and this is the only place I have most of them. There are pictures which I also don't have stored anywhere else and many memories too.

Please can someone help me rectify this?
