After taking a second peek, I realized that no matter what computer I am on, when I type in liveplur.com, it goes to my old site. From the back end of either site, while hovering over my profile on the top right, it shows both sites... I am able to go to both, each of them having the same address. Did I skip something important? I no longer want the old one at all.

I don't think it matters a great deal since the mapping takes only a few minutes to do

I would probably buy the new domain name and point it to the blog you want it to go to - then change the mapping for the existing domain name to the new blog - you can have more than one domain name mapped to the same blog so that is not an issue - you can only have one "Primary" domain name per web site / blog (the name visitors see in their browser address bar)

However, I want it to point to a different blog and I want to purchase another name that will point to the blog that is currently 52at52. I'm confused in what order I should do this. I haven't started the new blog yet because I don't want to screw this up! Any suggestions/helpful tips will be most appreciated.

But when I switched it back to my previous theme, everything on my right sidebar disappeared. When I went to check my widgets and links, they were all gone! Is there any way to get them back without having to start over from scratch? Are they saved somewhere or are they deleted forever? I thought everything got saved? Why were they deleted? Does stuff get deleted when you switch themes?

Also, the number of my followers got deleted. Does that show up again when I put that button back up?

Since paying the $99 for WordPress.com, I have signed up for an online course on Creating WordPress Websites. The instructor has specified we are using WordPress.org, because it offers more templates and plugins than dot COM.

It has been more than 30 days since I purchased the hosting, so I suppose I need to go the route of just starting over with WordPress.org.

WordPress.org and WordPress.com are completely separate.

WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.

Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrades, you can request a refund yourself directly from the Store section of your Dashboard
http://en.support.wordpress.com/upgrades/#refunds
http://en.support.wordpress.com/bundles/#canceling-a-bundle

Note: It takes from 1 - 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

A WordPress blog can either be structured as a page based website or its conventional post based blog structure can be retained. That’s why understanding the differences between posts and pages, comprehending the SEO implications of creating a page based structure, and knowing how to use custom menus are key to decision making when selecting a theme, and setting up your WordPress.com blog. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/05/12/better-blogging-at-wordpress-com-pages-and-posts/

See here for a step by step guide > Using WordPress.com to Create a Website http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/

On one hand, none of the characteristic "blog" features like categories, tags, authors, dates, etc. can be removed from a free hosted WordPress.com blog without purchasing an annually renewable custom design upgrade and doing the required CSS editing.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/editing-css/

On that other hand, one can edit a WordPress.org theme free of charge. That's why I suggested you read this comparison > WordPress.com and WordPress.org: The Differences http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

After paying $99 to WordPress.COM for what I thought was website hosting, I have learned there is a site called WordPress.ORG. Apparently, the dot ORG is for creating websites. Are the two sites affiliated? If so, is there a way to switch from one to the other, or have I lost the $99 I already paid to WordPress.COM?

What a nice gift! Here is how to transfer ownership to your friend.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

If you wish to transfer a blog to a user who does NOT yet have an account, please have them register first at http://wordpress.com/signup/.
A blog with domain upgrades will be processed manually by a member of WordPress.com support. All other upgrades will be transferred with the blog. Please be aware of this before you transfer your blog.
