Hi
I publish my blog on Facebook, and even though I have asked people to leave comments on the blog, they comment on facebook. I am sure that I had it working once that it would sync the comments that were left on facebook with the blog using a plugin. There are various plugins that say they will do this but I cannot get them to work.
In short, what I want is if someone leaves a comment on Facebook, it puts it as a comment on my blog too. I could also do with it doing that historically too.

Another note: Although the app suggests I browse the forums for answers, I can't post or comment because I need to login. At this point, I receive a message stating 'Invalid' login and username… even though I just logged in on the home screen and my account and page are accessible. Strange.

Every time I attempt to update a draft I wrote while on the go and using the iPhone, I get an error message telling me 'Bad login/pass combination' even though I just logged in. Coincidentally, although it asks for user name, I'm also unable to login under my user name. I have to enter the blog's email address before I can get into the system but then I still get the unable to sync, bad login message. I thought the latest iPhone upgrade would solve this problem, but it does not. I travel for a living and really need this feature to work seamlessly. My only solution is copy & paste the document, email it to myself, then add it to the draft when I'm on my laptop back at home, and that is seriously inconvenient! (I have a purchased domain name using WordPress as the web host.) … Thank you.

I'm afraid we don't support publishing to more than one blog at the same time. What you could do, at regular intervals, is export your selected content from lgbthealthequity.wordpress.com and import that into gyour1mainman.wordpress.com, see:

I have my blog (gyour1mainman.wordpress.com) and I actually post all of my posts on (lgbthealthequity.wordpress.com) I am trying to figure out a way to be able to write one post and have it post to both blog sites. I would like my blog to have all of my blog posts for lgbthealthequity on them.

The first couple of days after buying a URL can be pretty harrowing. I was in near panic more than once, waiting for server caches, browser caches, etc. to "catch up" with my change over, but it all worked itself out. I don't remember now if it was closer to the 24 hours or the 72 hours that get referenced in all the resource materials. It seemed like an eternity while it was propagating, and seems now like the blink of an eye in retrospect.

Assuming that you followed all of the directions in the Domain Mapping upgrade support pages, http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/, you're new domain name will be up and running all across the web in (relatively) no time.

We seem to have a spelling issue here. You mapped to: http://chichomeorganizingdotcom.wordpress.com/ not http://chichomeorganizing.wordpress.com/

So you really have two different sites. My suggestion would be to ask the Staff to fix the Domain Mapping to http://chichomeorganizing.wordpress.com/ then set chichomeorganizingdotcom to "Private" and use it as a test blog.

The contact staff is still off line http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ - you can email them at support (at) wordpress.com.

I will also mark this for Staff Attention - Patience Grasshopper - you are almost there.

PS - the spelling thing is a common error.

Thank you for your feedback! However, did you notice the difference between the two sites, chichomeorganizing.wordpress.com and chichomeorganizing.com? I have posted blogs and changed titles on them and they are not reflected on site without wordpress in name. I'm wondering why they aren't linked and if I have to update it separately...

It can take 24 to 72 hours for the changes to make it to the far corners of the internet - you can also have problems with local cashing issues and your local ISP. If you did things correctly then Patience Grasshopper.

I bought my domain name minus the word wordpress in the name, but now it shows nothing about that domain in my account. Whenever I update information, it only updates chichomeorganizing.wordpress.com and when I go to chichomeorganizing.com it is a completely different website! Maybe I am just missing something here, but I cannot figure this out. I just had business cards printed with chichomeorganizing.com and am quite frustrated that people will be sent to a page that I cannot figure out how to access or sync with wordpress site. I was given the impression that my default domain would be the one without wordpress since I purchased it. Is this something I have to manage separately?? Please help!! Customer service is "offline" right now, which is frustrating too! Thanks!!

Do you mean export it from your local version so you can import it to your WP.com blog? That's under Tools->Export and Tools->Import on the respective blogs.

There are considerable differences between the wordpress.ORG software you have locally installed and the wordpress.COM software (that this blog is on, http://guttercoveroutlet.wordpress.com/ ). They are two separate and distinct things.

You can export content from one or the other and import it into the other, but you cannot "sync" the two.

There is no FTP access here, and wordpress.COM being a multi-user platform, we have no access to any of the backend files.

Hi, I'm really noobish in using WordPress, so please bear with me. I'm using Ubuntu 10.10, and I've set up phpMyAdmin properly and all that stuff. However, what I've noticed about the local installation is that it's not the same as the one that's online. How do I sync it? Do I need to import certain folders and stuff, or change something in my server settings?

This is not possible, and having duplicate content on the web will get both of the blogs tossed into a deep well by the search engines. They see duplicate content and automatically thing splog (spam blog) and will heavily discount your search engine ranking.

Duplicate content = really bad idea.

I'm trying to look for a resolution to a problem that I continue to have when using WordPress as a page driven CMS. When adding pages to a site is there a way for two separate pages to have the same content and custom fields where if you update one it updates both or all "mimiced" pages? I don't want to redirect to a page as then they would be moved out of the page directory that they are currently browsing. I'm just hoping that they can click on a page and have it show the same content as if it where the same pages but retain the url and position in the site navigation.

Here is a link to a page with a full listing of trainers for a gym:

Then a listing for trainers that just do Pilate classes:

So some of the pilate trainers are overlapping the overall list of trainers and both have the same content. If anyone knows of a way to keep these pages so they stay more in sync with the same content even when a user updates them it would be very helpful.

This is a problem that is not just on this site but multiple sites that I have done and always comes up as a client request.

Both would be private, and the other bloggers would definitely know about it.

It would just be a matter of convenience- we have regular posters who would definitely switch over for the better features here at wordpress, but there are also those who only post once every few months, and I suspect they wouldn't feel like switching their bookmarks and logins, and would prefer to stay posting at lj.

but it looks like copy and paste is the only option. i guessed it was something like that, now I have a definite answer. Thanks.

I probably won't bother with it; not worth disrupting a group that's functioning okay as is. But thanks for the answer!

You want to post stuff from a Private blog into a public one? Do you have the permission of all the members to do this? Or are both blogs to be private?

Copy and paste is the only way, particularly as LJ's privacy settings are the most rigorous in the online world as far as I've seen. Be aware that the contents of each post are copyright the original bloggers.

It doesn't affect this situation, though. The group blog is private; just a way for friends who are scattered across the country to keep in touch. So rankings are irrelevant, of course.
