When I add breaks on the CD page at 'www.davidrabinovich.com', it seems to work just fine. But later, the page deletes the breaks and pastes the last lines directly behind each other.

Text and images are placed in a table I created using HTML.

I tried different things:
- enter in the wysiwyg
- 2x shift+enter in the wysiwyg
- breaks '

' in HTML mode
- non breaking space ' ' in HTML mode

Everything gives the same result: it seems to work, but ends up being a total mess.

Please help me out!

I'm using the Twenty Eleven theme, and whenever I build a basic HTML table it automatically adds visible lines between each row. There's no border around the whole table, just dividers between the rows. Is there a way to get rid of this in the table's coding? I don't want to stop it on every table, just a few on certain pages.

I don't have the Custom Design upgrade so it'd have to be within the table's coding.

Cheers

You should also remove border="1" from the table tag: you're seeing borders because that's the default in the theme you're using, not because you added the border attribute.

We cannot use plugins on WordPress.COM.
http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
But you don't need that. Here is code to build your table as you describe:

IMAGE

TEXT

TEXT

TEXT

TEXT

Details about coding tables:
http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2013/04/09/table-coding-for-wordpress-com-users/

If you are using Windows you could use Windows LiveWriter which will make tables:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/

(I don't think any of those editors for macs do tables)

First, as you saw, some of the coding you use has no effect. You need to reconsider various things re table coding. Study this tutorial of mine:
http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2013/04/09/table-coding-for-wordpress-com-users/

Second, you don't even need a table inside a table: you can insert the image as an independent image, setting its alignment to left, and use a table for the two-column data only, setting the appropriate width for it (not the way you've tried) and setting it to float right, so that it will show next to the image.

OK so I'm doing a website for a local guitar shop (set up before by someone else, I'm simply rebuilding it from the dashboard) and I'm having a few issues.

I'm trying to build the individual product pages to have a table in which the left cell has the photo of the product, and then the right cell has a second table with specifications and details listed. Now it all looks perfect in the visual editor (first link) but doesn't align correctly on the live page (second link).

http://www.flickr.com/photos/78987194@N03/8677456101/in/photostream
http://carsandguitars.co.uk/electric/les-paul/gibson-les-paul/

It's been suggested to me that using a Custom CSS Manager plugin will allow me to solve the problem, however my dashboard doesn't have a plugins section. Can anyone suggest a solution??

Preferably without having to pay for the upgrade...

Hello!

My only critique of WordPress.com is the lack of functionality to create tables within the visual post tab. I know that it is possible to create tables by coding in HTML - but I have yet to create something pleasing to the eye using this method.

As I am an academic researcher, the presentation of data and results is key to the aims of my blog and while it remains very easy to upload image files - I would like to extend this ease to tables.

I hope many more of you would like to see this feature!

If the images have varying aspect ratios, they can't show up as same width and height except if you distort them. I sure hope you don't want that, so first you need to reconsider: if they have varying aspect ratios, you should first crop them in an image editing application so that they all have the same aspect ratio (say make all of them all square or all of them in a 3/4 width/height proportion) or content yourself with same width only (same width is more important when it comes to a column of images with texts next to them).

In case this is all Greek to you, paste here the URLs of a couple of your images so I can see what they look like.

Feedback on display. re: http://ariannasrandomthoughts.com/praise/ Using Firefox 20 the text is buted right against the sidebar with no padding or spacing and looks like it's about to slide under it. It's all in ugly bold lettering and the font is navy blue in color which clashes with the blog colors.
