I'm putting together my first post, and I see a silly "bee's knees" line below my blog title name when I do "preview". I gather it's the "site description" tage, but I can't find any way to edit it.

I can remove it -- and the title, which I don't want to do -- by unchecking a header text box under "Appearance". But I don't see any way to edit the header text or site description text.

This should be very easy task, since it's such a basic item ... but I don't see any option for doing this.

I hope someone hear can point me to the magic place.

Thanks a lot for your insight! I wasn't aware of how long it takes for search engines to revisit websites. I thought this would be an issue of where the info was being fetched from WordPress, and thus that I could change it somewhere. This seems to explain the problem. ;)

Hello,

I'm having trouble getting the title and tagline I want appearing in search engines and Facebook shares. When I set up my blog, which right now focuses on promoting an event, I used a "mystery" tagline, knowing that I could change it anytime in general settings when it was time for the mystery to be unveiled. So I did... and the old tagline and title (which was also changed) still appear in search engines. Both appear fine on the browser's tab, but the older texts appear in searches and FB shares. Where do I find this older texts? Where does Google, FB, etc. go get this, so I can change it to what I already confgured in the general settings?

This is quite annoying because the old tagline simply makes no sense anymore, due to the communication plan set up for this event. Thanks in advance for any help!

This theme is awesome. So you did choose it for your start.

Your blog also looks nice.

As regards your query, may you try putting selected text in the 'excerpts', and also using tags and putting your posts under some categories of your choice.

Hope the above advice works.

Hi everyone,

I only joined wordpress.com this week so am having to learn very quickly so excuse me if this is a stupid question.

Have started a blog (http://teamfootball.wordpress.com/) and have managed to get round most of the problems I've encountered except one.

I am using the Sunspot theme. The articles (posts) are appearing fine on their individual pages but, on the homepage, the tagline is mixed in with the body text of the article.

I don't mind what the solution is - to remove the body text entirely from the homepage, to change the colour or create a gap somehow - but nothing I have tried has worked.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

RD

Hello, I've got a twofer for anyone that can help:

I'm using the Tetris theme, which automatically includes a banner for my site's tagline. I'd like to get rid of both the tagline and the white banner itself.

Also, my menu options are displaying as a vertical list in my header. What's the best way to turn them into a horizontal list?

Here's the site in question:

I'm very new to WordPress and CSS, so if your response includes editing the code, please be very specific about what steps I need to take.

Thanks!
