You cannot use the image editing feature here to type any text onto an image you have already uploaded into your blog that has no text on it now. http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-editing/

You have to do that prior to uploading the images into your blog. You can use either free desktop image editing software or free image editing software online.

The only way I know how to add text to a photo is to do so in a photo editing program prior to it being uploaded (i.e. a watermark).
