I don't remember this warning: does this mean that - maybe - there is a chance that I didn't actually activate the thing and that therefore there is an old version of the baby somewhere out there in the wide cyberspace?

Instead of ''preview live'' a theme just out of curiosity, I activated it for like 5 seconds... Immediately I went back to my original theme which - of course - took me days and days of love and personal crafting.

But now it ain't the exact same anymore. The little things on the side, on the bottom... All those little accessories I put so much energy on... I beg you wordpress helpers: tell me that this is NOT definitive and that there is somewhere a button to cancel the ''superhero'' accidental activation (I know... how ironic), as OF COURSE, I hadn't even saved half of everything.

If, from the Dashboard, you choose: Appearance > Themes
Do you then see a page that says "Manage Themes" with your current theme across the top? Then below you should see thumbnails of the available themes.

Beneath each thumbnail it will say "activate" (or purchase), "LIVE PREVIEW" & "details

Selecting "live preview" gives you the rough sense of the blog under the new theme.

Are you not seeing the choices below the thumbnails?

Secondly, can anyone recommend a theme that, as I mentioned above.. has the same layout as mine, a custom header...post to the right...everything else to the left?

Have you done any troubleshooting? Below are the troubleshooting steps we take whenever any issues like this arise and undertaking them will provide valuable feedback information for Staff:

The only relatively new areas of the Admin/Dashboard are exactly the Appearance>Themes> Live Preview area (introduced in May) and the Custom Design area, with the addition of the Custom Colors section. But the Dashboard itself hasn't changed much. Links may come and links may go, but that's about it.

When I first select a theme and hit "Live Preview", the preview shows for a second or two, then goes blank. If I hit "Cancel", the preview pane displays the preview.

There's a glitch somewhere --- I don't know if they're using Flash or some kind of scripting, but something seems to have changed in the last few weeks.

If this was a privately hosted site I would suspect browser issues. But since its hosted on WP's own hosting, I am not sure this is browser related but rather something to do with coding functions.

Regardless, I'll tag this for staff assistance; please be patient while they get back to you.

I am not sure it's a browser issue since the same problem seem to appear in Explorer as well. The new features feel buggy. Several of us have come across a few buggy features as we work on an article. We haven't taken the time to record these for WP as we have our own work to focus on.

But it would be better if people got to chose the CMS layout rather than having to convert to a new one; we're not too keen on the new features and layout. It takes longer now to add new content as we have to go through more steps to add tags, page order, and so on.
