Just to let you know that we've added a link to a post that the image is attached to, and a link to full size of the image on image attachement page. Also we've fixed the issue on image navigations.

Thanks for reporting the issue.

Does this theme/wordpress not automatically attach the photos to the posts when you initially make a photo post?

No. That's not default behavior of WordPress. "Uploading" and "Attaching/Inserting" are two different actions. You need to click the blue button "Insert Into Post" or "Set featured image" (If you are setting a featured image).

Hope it helps.

I have also just looked at one of the image Attachment pages in that above post only to find that in FF17.0.1 there is a white line that crosses the image about 2/5 from the top. Clicking anywhere in that top area does indeed bring me to the next image Attachment page, but why the ugly line and dead links?

Please note I am not looking to use the Gallery feature on this post.

Missing as well from the image attachment page: there is no link to the post where the image appears nor is there a link to the full-sized image.

As an aside, I notice that when posting a new thread in the forums, one has the option of receiving followup posts via e-mail. Why not give this option on the "Contact Support" form, since in any event the majority of posts submitted there end up in the forums?

And you uploaded each file individually to each separate post and then inserted it in the post or also marked it as a Featured Image?

Here's what it says in Hatch's Theme Showcase page

If no featured image is assigned, Hatch will attempt to pull the first attached image in your post. If no image is attached, the theme displays a light gray placeholder.

So from my understanding the photo you inserted in your post should also appear on the front page of your site if it is at least 640 pixels wide, which your images are.

Perhaps the Theme Team can shed some light on this and I've tagged this for their assistance.

hello all,
you all seem to be very good at figuring out problems like this.
however, not all of us are blessed that way.
I chose the ascetica theme because of the slider,
but do not seem to manage at all -
partly do to terminology, I think.
I added images to a post, checked featured image or sticky, both wrong
I added 2 posts with one image each, tried to set 'featured image' for both, wrong, too
WP.org states, in quick-edit-mode under the status post there was a checkbox 'featured post' but there isn't
I am at a loss
the url is probably no use to you, alas, her goes: http://verkehrssichereskladow.wordpress.com
any help appreciated
thank you

I was inspecting the CSS on onanel's blog. LaTeX on WordPress renders formulas as images using a PHP script. Here's the code being used to generate the chemical formula for carbon dioxide:

http://s0.wp.com/latex.php?latex=CO_2&bg=27292a&fg=000000&s=0

The call to latex.php includes a parameter bg which specifies the background color for the image. Changing the parameter to use white as the background color produces the desired result:

http://s0.wp.com/latex.php?latex=CO_2&bg=ffffff&fg=000000&s=0

The alignment of the image is a separate issue and needs to be solved by tweaking the theme's CSS.

justjennifer, the problem in the other forum discussion you mentioned was that mathgarage used the wrong syntax to invoke LaTeX processing in WordPress. The standard LaTex syntax is
$ ... $
but WordPress changes that to
$latex ... $
. onanel is already using the correct LaTeX syntax for WordPress. This is purely a CSS issue.

This LaTeX code is correct:

<br />
$latex CO_2$<br />

I tried it in a WordPress.com test blog using the Enterprise theme, and it worked fine there. I then changed the theme to Sight, which caused the LaTeX to be blacked out. This is definitely a problem with the theme, like justpi said.

If you don't want to change your theme, there's a temporary work-around. Click on the Text tab in the WordPress visual editor and enter this HTML:

<br />
CO2<br />

It will render the chemical formula for carbon dioxide correctly in the Sight theme.
