Then one day, it stopped showing the author's picture and only started showing the blogs default/banner graphic.

To prevent the Archives widget from throwing things out of balance, you can open it and select the option "Display as dropdown".

I guess I will see how it goes in a few days when we are in June.

If you just need a text link, you'll create it in a Text widget. Basic coding here:

After you create the link, you can use CSS editing to change its styling and/or position it somewhere else. But I don't agree with this:

between the "Older Posts" and "Newer Posts" links but on the line BELOW them

The first and the last page of posts display the one of the two navigation links only, so the link to the thumbnails page will look unbalanced on those two pages. I suggest you simply add the Text widget to Footer Area Two, and move its current widget to Footer Area Three.

The only thing left now is re-positioning the link on the are where I want it. (between the "Older Posts" and "Newer Posts" links but on the line BELOW them those two links if that's possible and if it makes ANY sense!

So:
1) You edit each post and set its image as a featured image.
2) You create a page in Pages > Add New, and paste the display-posts shortcode as its content. What you describe requires this version of the shortcode:
[display-posts posts_per_page="-1" image_size="thumbnail" wrapper="div"]
3) Since you want no titles, and assuming you want the thumbnails to show up in rows, you paste this in the CSS editor:

.display-posts-listing .title {
	display: none;
}
.display-posts-listing img {
	float: left;
	margin: 0 10px 10px 0;
}

(Depending on the aspect ratios of the images, you might need some further CSS editing.)
4) You go to Settings > Media and set the width you prefer for the thumbnail option.

As for the "button", you just need a link to that page in a footer widget. What exactly do you mean by button? an image link, or a text link styled a certain way?

I already have a theme I am using Twenty Eleven..
I know about featured images but I don't think that this is what I need.

As for pages, I don't have nor want to have a menu on my blog since there is nothing I want to put on it.

I only want a page to show all of my post images as thumbnails. - this can open when a button is pressed if that is something I can have.
I'd like this to be at the bottom so it's out of the way and just say "View all posts".

We recently noticed that in the live demo of the Forever theme, there are thumbnails for highlighted posts. However, we haven't had this feature from the beginning. How do we put them back in?
