I can view 6 posts on the front page of your blog and all are dated January 21, 2011. If the blog is working correctly then the posts will be ordered by datee and time of publication inless your scheduled them to publish on a future date. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/schedule-a-post/

If this is not the order in which they appear ie. in order in accord with date stamp and time stamp and your did not scheule the posts to publish on a future date then two possibilities exist.
1. You may need to go here > Settings > General and correct the timezone by settings it for the one you live in. The default setting is UTC time formerly Greenwich mean time.

2. If that's not the case then you will need Staff help. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

I've read the forum posts about this and can't seem to find the problem. My posts are seeming to appear in random order. I've checked the top posts, and they're not in sticky mode, so now what? What I want is the posts to be sorted by order of most recent at the top and on downward to the least recent at the bottom.

I did, thank you both.
They can't help because it is a date that comes through from WLW. I got into a WLW forum which couldn't help either.
What I did suggest to WP staff is that WordPress be amended to allow one to delete a publish date on a draft and revert to 'Publish immediate'. That seems to have been rejected.

In case someone else can benefit.
I use Windows Live Writer to draft my posts then I send the draft through to WP for further work. Unfortunately WLW sends through the current date and time even if I leave the Post Date blank on their side. And WP doesn't allow you to delete that date and revert to the default "Publish Immediately".

Any new post you make should automatically be set for immediate publishing unless you set it otherwise. If it is not, then contact staff and have them look into it for you.

Thanks, but no, unfortunately, that's correct. It's not so much the fact that the time is out, but that I want it to default back to "immediate". That doesn't seem to be an option?

Go to settings > general and check your time time zone setting. Perhaps it is off by one zone.

Having used the time stamp to publish a couple of posts at a specified time, every new now post shows a "Publish On" time and date - usually an hour or so before the current time.
How can I get it to default to "Publish Immediately"?

It is difficult because the date and time stamp doesn't have it's own class or ID. It isn't even in an independant tag. The following is the best I can come up with. It turns the date and time text colour the same as the background (so you can still highlight it with the mouse and see it). It also moves the comment link (and edit link if you're signed in) onto the next line so they don't appear to be floating a random distance to the right.

Please do NOT create duplicate threads on the forum. There is no Staff support for CSS editing and there are only a couple of Volunteers who do help. I recommend that you be patient while waiting for them to answer your first thread.

I'm trying to figure out how to remove the date and time stamp from the posts on my blog. I used the chaotic soul template and purchased the css editing upgrade but I can figure out which part of the code applies to the time stamp. Any clues?

Ah - or it may have happend "behind your back" when you changed timezone settings, A quirky WordPress "feature" :)

The fix is still the same. If you edit the publish time of the "So here we are" post, everything should return to normal.

alexandersteel, it looks like you may have manually edited the "Publish on" time for the "So here we are post"?

If you edit the post, you can change the time again.

Your posts ought to be displaying in reverse chronological order with the most recent post on top and in accord with the date/timestamps. Have you checked to see if your blog is set to reflect the timezone you live in here? > Dashboard > Setting > General If your haven;t changed this setting then your blog will be on UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). If you have set ti correctly we Volunteers answering cannot help you as we do not have backend access to blogs; only staff do and only they can apply technical fixes. So I just started up a blog on here today, made some posts and noticed they're in the wrong order. I know I posted them on the same day, but they should also be in reverse order by time, right? I checked the posts and the times since I posted them are corrected, also neither of them are sticky.

You can go to Settings > General and find "Date Format" section.
In the text box next to "Custom:", enter this:

You can't do that without the paid CSS upgrade. What you can do is write your welcome notice as a page, not a post, and set your blog front to display that page instead of posts. See here:
