Timepiece displaying whole post instead of excerpts - and I only want excerpts on the splash page! Anyone else having this problem? Isn't not solvable by changing browser or clearing cookies and cache.

This works using Firebug in Firefox on your site, and I see the text color in your site (about page) is black now. The existing color was very close to black, so try changing the color code to #CC0000 just to see if the code I gave is changing the text you want to change.

Yes, you can adjust the size of the embedded VideoPress player by altering the shortcode: http://en.support.wordpress.com/videopress/#frequently-asked-questions

For example, for a player that is 640 pixels wide:

Timepiece is a very wide theme, but videos expand to fill the space. Can I change the size of the video in Timepiece so it's smaller? I have the CSS and Videopress upgrade.

I am using the Timepiece theme for my blog.

In Firefox, I get a bar at the top of my window that allows me to access my dashboard and other WordPress features.

However, I do not see that in Chrome. Is there a way to gain access to the dashboard in Timepiece using Chrome without having to go to the wordpress.com "my blogs" page?

If you have a post that lacks a title then that could be because you created an "aside" here > http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ instead of creating a standard (post format) post on your own dashboard here > Posts > Add New

Only some themes are coded to display Taglines. Regardless of the theme we use all of our WordPress.com blogs have the Site Title and Tagline settings on this page > Settings > General

Hmmm...The general settings tab for the theme provides a space to enter a tagline, and the header customization tab shows the site title banner with the tagline I entered. But it does not show up on the live site. I wonder why?

I'm sorry but unless the theme is coded to display a Tagline it won't be displayed.

Thank you for your fast reply. Do you mind one other question?
I thought I'd try out the theme on a blog I only infrequently use (https://meredithstrategy.wordpress.com/).

The "tagline" for the blog ("weeknotes" in this case) does not show up under the site title. Is there a way I can adjust this to make the tagline visible?

Widgets
Widgets are not currently supported by Timepiece, but it doesn’t mean that this will always be the case! The cool part about this theme is that it plans to evolve over the coming weeks, so be on the lookout for an enhancement that brings widget support to Timepiece in an interesting fashion. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/timepiece/

If I choose to use Timepiece, I know I will no longer have widgets. But what about the subscribers to my blog? Will they no longer get my posts? How will I get new subscribers?

Also, are the colors related to post types, or are they otherwise assigned to posts. In other words, If I consistently use standard posts, will each post have a distinguishing color band or will each post be the same color?

Clarification: when i say "old posts, loaded with another theme supporting the 'link' post format, work fine also in timepiece" I mean that the links in the body of the post are active even in the main page.

Timepiece recognize in someway the link post format if already present, but is not able to create new posts with that formatting.

I love the timepiece theme.
I love also the 'link' post format, but it seems not supported in timepiece. I say 'seems' because old posts, loaded with another theme supporting the 'link' post format, work fine also in timepiece. Can you clarify? Can i hope in an updated of the timepiece theme fully supporting the link post format? Thanks

Hello,

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the background in the theme 'timepiece' from the current default solid black to something else?

I have looked under appearance tab in the dashboard - where there is no background sub menu... but I wondered if there was another way... perhaps through the custom bundle?
