A few questions about photos. If someone can answer one or all of them I would much appreciate it.

It appears that I need to write the post before uploading the photo. If I upload the photo first, the screen locks up and won't allow me to type anything. So type first and upload photo later, always?

Then I run into another problem: When I upload the photo, it attaches to the text, no matter how far to the right I have placed the text. There must be a way to grab hold of the photo and move it around. Would someone be so kind as to tell me how?

How do I get my photo to display on the first page of wordpress.com when I log on? Currently, there's a box for it, but it is grey. I can upload the actual photo, not a grey box, into a post. Why does it display as a grey box on the front page?

Finally, how do people get featured on wordpress.com home page?
