The WordPress.com search engine indexes post, pages, and comments content (body text). Unless entered as text in those contents, blog name, post titles, and post/comment author names are not indexed. http://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpresscom-search/

For Google searches use this format and replace "keyword" with whatever word you wish:
keyword site:wordpress.com/

Example search string
Queen Victoria site:wordpress.com
results > http://tinyurl.com/csaobsx

If you are looking for humor blogs here at WordPress.com then you can use the Topics search to locate blogs with similar content see here > http://wordpress.com/#!/read/topics/

Hello fellow bloggers! I am new to everything blogging and I'm wondering how I can search other bloggers that have the same interests as me, or just may blog about things I'd enjoy reading if I'm bored. Anyone know how to go about doing this? My blog isn't about any specific topic either; it will probably just end up being a compilation of random thoughts/outbursts. Feel free to follow! :)

For WordPress.com global tag searches ie. Topics search to locate blogs with similar content see here > http://wordpress.com/#!/read/topics/

For WordPress.com searches

On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/

While you offer "Freshly pressed"etc. there does not seem to be an easy way that I have found to search wordpress.com sites. Is there something i am missing?

If the topic you want to see has more than one word, use "-" between words.

thanks... I'll give that a try. I've tried it by topic and using search, still doesn't completely solve the problem but I will manage.

You can access Topics here > http://wordpress.com/#!/read/topics/

You can use wordpress.com search to do topic searches > http://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpresscom-search/

You can use Google as well simply replace the keyword below with any keyword in the search string:
keyword site:wordpress.com

I've been trying to find a good way to randomize what I'm seeing. I love reading art and travel blogs, but the tags seem to be almost useless--when only ten posts are loading at a time, it's hard to scroll and scroll and scroll and scroll until I find something that really interests me.

How are you all doing it?

If you've "liked" a post, you should find that on your WordPress.com homepage under Reader: "Posts I like". Clicking on the post title should bring you to the post you liked.

Otherwise, have you tried a search engine? site:wordpress.com +handle

What's the easiest way of finding blog?
I would have hoped that clicking on an 'like icon' it would take me to the blog of that person but it doesn't it takes me to the gravatar thing. Okay if the person has put their blog adress there but many seem not to have. So how can I find somebody if I know there 'handle' but not their xxx.wordpress?

Hello fellow bloggers. I have recently opened a new blog about lifestyle change vs body acceptance and was wondering how I would find this blog if I were searching and how would I find other blogs that may be of interest to me?

You can still do this. Look for topics here:

http://wordpress.com/#!/read/topics/

and to find a specific topic, just put a forward slash on the end, add the keyword, and put another forward slash, like this:

http://wordpress.com/#!/read/topic/kittens/

The page to view these things has changed and yes they've made the topics page look different but this is a site-wide change and it's unlikely that they'll change it back. Give it time and they'll probably think of something else that we might 'enjoy' and do it differently again! Everything here on WordPress.com has a habit of changing.

Oh - and don't shoot the messenger, I'm just a volunteer here. :)

I used to search for blogs and posts to read by topic e.g "kittens" or whatever. Now when I try to do this I have to select topics to follow from the "Freshly Pressed" page. When I then click on a topic I have typed in ans selected to follow it just loads for hours. Its not my computer or connection. Rubbish.
