Hi there, I really would just like to find out if it would be OK to link my blog to my Ebay listings? I would be blogging about the vintage and retro items and collectables that I have found at markets, auctions etc, some of which I might end up selling on Ebay. I'm also hoping that people out there will be able to comment on the items I find, so that I can learn more about them! Before I started writing my new blog, I wanted to check if that's OK. Thank you! Best wishes

Just my opinion, but a couple of artists showcasing their work sounds fine.

We have wedding photographers posting blogs, not to mention real estate agents, travel agents, and insurance agents. There are financial advisers, writers, plumbers, tattoo studios, construction and landscape owners, and even politicians who post about what they do. Lots of professionals have blogs here. There are even a few artists among them.

I was thinking in terms of whether it is allowed in the T&Cs. I know that the usual rule is that you can only promote things that you have personally made yourself, but a blog promoting two artists working together would seem to be in the spirit of the rule if not the letter.

I relaise that there is the "thin end of the wedge" problem - if two are allowed what about three - then what about an "art factory" with 20 people semi-industrially producing souvenirs.!

That's why I flagged this for staff to clarify whether its allowed.

Hello there. I was wandering about a hypothetical here. If I wanted to use my WordPress blog as a place where I create custom posts for individuals who pay me for this service on another site (say Fiverr.com), could I legally do it? Let's say I created a "gig" at Fiverr.com, and on my Fiverr page I offered to create a customized post for anyone who will pay me the $5 at the Fiverr site, and if someone decided to purchase my service, could I then go ahead and create a custom post for them on my WordPress blog? I'm hoping I can do this.

As for fundraising for a non-profit, I run a blog for work at a federally recognized 501 (c3) not for profit organization. I have a paypal donation button prominently displayed on the sidebar of the blog. (ok, no one has yet used it…) I link to our hosted website as well, and people have used the paypal button on there. The blog, though, is filled with how-to-do ideas, interesting people, and recycled/re-useable materials we sell, workshops we offer. I did ask the ToS folks here before starting the blog and got a positive answer. I'm not sure how one asks a direct question to them now…

No, I mean if you look in the sidebar of that blog, it's clear those are paid ads. And the contest companies may or may not have paid or given swag in return for being included in the contest. That is against the rules here.

WordPress.com has restrictions on codes we can use for security reasons and restrictions on commercial content, to keep blogs here personal or professional, rather than for-profit. WordPress.ORG has no such restrictions, but you do need to source your own host and pay for monthly hosting.
