Anyone here can advise me how to introduce Malayalam fonts and Malayalam typing in WordPress blogs? Tips on Malayalam transliteration and translation are also welcome.

Then why the Russian blogger who work with platform wordpress.org, prefer to install on their blogs modules to transliteration, such http://mywordpress.ru/plugins/rustolat/? Using your native language is totally standards-compliant and we haven't encountered any problems with that.

The only inconvenience I have with cyrillic URLs is that when you send it to friends it is sometimes seen with a lot of % characters. You can alleviate that by using the sort link: Admin Bar → Blog Info → Get Shortlink

On site ning.com, for example, initially implemented a transliteration of Cyrillic titles in Latin page address. Thus there are very few Russian-speaking communities, but the transliteration is supported. Possibility transliterated titles in the browser address bar would attract a much larger number of Russian-speaking users for wordpress.com

Hello.

I imported about 500 posts from LiveJournal, where most of them had Cyrillic titles. WordPress automatically created permalinks for them with lots of %xx (that replace Cyrillic characters), which is inconvenient.

For example, post titled "День победы" would look like
http://yvushakov.wordpress.com/2008/05/10/%d0%94%d0%b5%d0%bd%d1%8c-%d0%bf%d0%be%d0%b1%d0%b5%d0%b4%d1%8b/

What I'd like to do is go through every post and automatically apply transliteration, i.e. change Cyrillic letters to Latin letters, according to a transliteration standard,
so it would look like
http://yvushakov.wordpress.com/2008/05/10/denj-pobedy/

Can I do that?
