Regarding the revenue share, every ad representation has a revenue share - I don't know of any that are non-profit. WordAds feels that we can earn more for WordPress.com users than they would if they went self-hosted because our ability to negotiate good deals with advertisers that small sites couldn't get on their own. Plus we have a staff of engineers to optimize ad buys globally.

Also, I this may be a dumb question, but I am wondering if you get more money if you display the 3 ads option vs. just the one ads option. I'm guess you would get (ABOUT) 3x more money, but is that true?

2) The Triple Ad Unit layout has what are called a ‘Leaderboard’ horizontal in the header, a ‘Skyscraper’ horizontal in one of the borders and a “Middle Rectangle” under the first post. The Triple Ad Unit layout requires approval for each site by our advertisers. There are also limitations on the themes that can run here as some themes will not accommodate these three ads. You can view and get updates on the Triple Ad Unit themes here.
