I have been using Imbalance 2 theme for a real long time, and today, when I viewed my site, the text widgets and the down of every page of my blog wasn' t showing Turkish characters (ğ,ç,ş,ü,ö,ı)

The strange thing is that the text widget on top of every page shows Turkish characters without problems.

I tried to view my blog from IE and Chrome, and from different computers, but nothing changed. What could have changed in one night about widgets?

I don't have any special tips: you just type a hyphen to break any long word that causes a gap in the line above it; in your latest excerpt, for instance, turn "recommande" to "recom-mande".

Hello justpi! Thank you so much for helping out.

1)I looked on my post editor screen, I saw that I can click on one of the two icons to choose list display or excerpt display in my editor, but where I want to manipulate the excerpts is not on my Dashboard but on my site: hecticophilia.com for readability. If you take a look you can see that on the last line of each §, text stops after just one word (une ville/adorez/ce week end...) I would like either that last line to not appear at all or to appear fully. Where can I change that word count?

2)That's a great idea, how can I include the use of hyphens in my CSS sylesheet? I will then change the words slightly so that it looks better.

1) The auto excerpts display a fixed number of words. If you wish to change that, you can create your own custom excerpts in the Excerpt module. If you're not seeing the Excerpt module while on the post editor screen, click Screen Options (top right) to activate it.
2) Justified text can never look ok in a very narrow column. You can try decreasing the font size, or you can break the long words using hyphens.

Hello!

I write a blog on life as a French expat in London, I give tips on how to get settled here, get a flat that sort of thing and also write about cultural things to do here, local things and places to go etc.

I am trying to make my site looks nicer and I have two issues:

1)Does anyone know if I can alter the fact that on my homepage, when you look at the extracts of my posts, the text under the thumbnail images abruptly stops after one word on the last line before the "Continue Reading" link? I don't know if this is something I can change and where to change it. Is it a width issue, a number of words issue?

2)I am having the hardest time to make these bits of text look good. I know loads of people think against justifying text but I don't like at all those unordered pyramid steps that unjustified text gets on one of its sides. What I did is mess with the word-spacing (-0.3) and I know it does look a bit weird so if you have any advice on code that can make my justified text look better, I'd love to try out your suggestions.

Last week my entire site suddenly appeared in italics. I haven't touched my editor or done anything besides create new posts. I'm using Google Chrome. I tried changing the writing settings to correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically and I then edited each post since it happened last week and that didn't fix the problem. Please help!!

I wrote the stories in Word, copied and pasted. But when it appeared in the writing field where you enter the new posts, the typeface was very small and I had to make it bigger. I highlighted the text and did exactly what I wrote before. I did this 58 times, as I have 58 posts. Now you can still do all the steps till you get to "See Fonts", but when you click on this, the dialogue box does not appear. You can try it. Since you can get to click the "See Fonts" something must happen, but nothing does.

Hi Giora. I never heard of such an option available right here at WordPress.com (to change the font by right-clicking).

Were you perhaps writing your posts on another software first and then copying-pasting into WordPress.com?

I have 58 posts already. When I did all of them I could change font and size by doing this:
Right click on highlighted text. A menu opens.
Click "fonts". Another menu opens.
I move my cursor to "See fonts". This opened a dialogue box with all the fonts, all the possibilities for the fonts. like bold etc, and all the possible sizes.

I used this to design the text.
When I wanted to post a new post this feature disappeared and has been inactive for the last three days. So now I can't control the typography. What's wrong?

I've been hesitant to add watermarking, because I don't like having other disclaimer copy covering on top of my artwork.

I have been adding copyright info into the Meta data in photoshop, imbedded in the jpg files. But I just downloaded my own image from my blog, and I'm shocked to discover that the Meta info was not retained in the copy! Yikes.

I'm not sure how to proceed. I'll check out your copyright and watermarking links. Thank you so much for all the help.

I'm a Graphic Designer and the designs are all my own personal work. I have included that information in my "About" page, but you do have to read down to get to it. Perhaps I should make that more prominent.

Most of my work is graphic based, using my own illustration, photos and customized typography. The only exception is the stock images incorporated in my motivation series, and the stock license permits derivative work.

Yeah, I realize that (as mentioned above). I understand that this theme suggestion requires Thematic, which is why I suggested they also consider themes with larger type to complement what WP.com has now..

This is actually a "child theme" built on the themeatic framework, so they would actually have to incorporate themeatic and this child theme.
