Is there something about gmail accounts that prevent you from registering them with gravatar accounts? I want a custom avatar in Battlefield 3 which makes use of gravatar. If I go to the gravatar site and setup an account for my gmail account, it sends me an email with an activation link and when I click on it, I get taken back to the gravatar site where it asks me to login. I do so with the same info I just registered with and the site tells me invalid username/email/password. I've tried dozens of times. If I use my old college email (which I try to avoid as it will be defunct sometime here in the near future) gravatar allows me to register and activate just fine with no issues. I just don't get why. I sent an email to gravatar support on March 30th and never heard a word from them. Since the old email will be going away, I hate to just add the gmail address to the working gravatar account as a second email address. Also trying to use the gmail account as the main because I want to make sure it works with Battlefield 3 which is A)linked to my gmail account and B)the only reason I'm getting the gravatar account in the first place. Sorry I wrote a small novel there.

Would appreciate some help/insights

Hi, You can access free online signups sheets (and calendars, and a group wall) on Sagepoint, found at http://www.sagepoint.com. First, establish a free account on Sagepoint. Next, go to the 'GROUPS' tab to start a new group. Add members now, or wait until you set up your next event.

When you are ready to set up your first event. Go into your group tab, choose your Star Wars group, and find the icon for 'new event'. Read each field carefully and input the information. At first, you may want to "save a draft" prior to sending your event to recipients......this will allow you to view what you have done so far, and edit anything you want to.

Once the item is sent out to your invitees, it will appear on your calendar in Sagepoint. Any of your group members who establish an account on Sagepoint will also have this calendar.

If any members choose not to establish an account, that is ok. They will still have access to signing up for all of your events, but they will not see the calendar.

All invitees can receive automated email reminders through Sagepoint reminding them of the signup deadline, and/or reminding them of the event. These signup reminders are setup by you when you are creating an event, but Sagepoint will send out the reminders for you at the time(s) you choose. That means you will not have to send reminder emails yourself. Nice!

If you need any help, feel free to contact me directly on my wordpress blog at Sagepointers. Happy gaming to you and your group!

Hello! First off, I apologize if this is the wrong place to put this. I've tried searching extensively for an answer, and I couldn't find one, so I thought I should ask!

I'm a guildmaster in a "Star Wars: The Old Republic" guild (wsguild.net). I'm assuming most of you haven't played massively-multiplayer online games, so I'll try to be descript: in the game, there are events that multiple players can team up for, and to organize those events, we'd like to have a calendar, where users can sign up for said events. We'd like to make it so that players can sign up for events without needing to create an account on the website, or anyplace else for that matter, simply by visiting the website and, say, typing a nickname into a field, or something to that effect.

Our website has SMF forums, but their calendar system is a bit wonky and confusing, and not everyone in our guild wants to create an account for the forums. There must be an easy way to do it on WordPress, but thus far it has been anything but! I can speak on behalf of the 120-ish members of our guild when I say we'd appreciate any help anyone can offer on this subject. :)

I am having a problem with the images on my website,

http://www.ravengarcia.com

.

Before I start, I'll admit that I don't know much about how WordPress works. A friend set the site up for me. All I do is write articles and upload content. The site was hacked a few days ago and a weird message started appearing at the top of all pages. The guy who set the site up for me had a look at it, apparently I hadn't upgraded in ages and was still using WordPress 2.8, apparently this left my site vulnerable to hacking and somebody got in but luckily wasn't able to do any damage.

My friend upgraded me to the latest version and upgraded all my plugins that were out of date. He then backed up my database and re-installed WordPress plus the database. He could not save my theme which I had modified but downloaded a copy of the original version which I then had to remake all the changes I'd made, which took about an hour but once it was done I thought I was in the clear.

However, it turns out that all of my 700+ images from the last year and a half have now vanished as they are no longer appearing on the site. But the strange thing is, the images still appear on Google images search with my website address underneath, and the filenames also appear in the Media Library but the thumbnails are not showing up. When I click on "edit" all of the dimensions of the image are displayed as well as the date I originally uploaded them but I cannot see the image. However according to the Media Library the files are there and this is confirmed when searching for specific images from my site on Google. So how do I get them back??

It seems like this problem only started occurring after WordPress was upgraded, so I'm thinking it might be a problem with the new WP. If anybody could help me with this I would be extremely grateful, some of the photos held great sentimental value for me.

The reason your sidebar has fallen and is displaying below your posts is either due to copying and pasting or it can also be a result of importing text containing invalid HTML.

Typically this is caused by an open HTML tag in one of your posts or in a text widget. You must locate it and close it.

Go to Settings > Writing and select “ ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click “Save Changes.”

Now, starting with your latest post, open it in the editor, make one minor change such as adding a space and then deleting it, and then click “Update Post.” Check your blog and see if it is back to normal.

If it’s not, then look for an open HTML tag and close it. Check your blog again and see if it is back to normal. If it’s still “messed up” then open the next post and do the same thing post by post until it goes back to normal.

If you have been copying and pasting text from elsewhere without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor, please see here so you know how to do this correctly in the future. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text

All of the information (widgets: images, archive, category cloud, etc.) is appearing on the bottom of my page.

Hi after emailing support, the more tags work. Use them as specified in the video and then clear your cache to see the changes or try on a different browser. I normally use Safari but test various things using Camino. I was in the odd situation of seeing the changes work in one browser over the other because I hadn't cached the page before as it was the first time I used Camino to view said page.

Hope this helps other people.

The reason why it happens is because the post is too big to load on the front page.
