Hi porcelainulairi,

I just tested the app and it does seem to be updating topics. Be sure you have version 3.6 running (it was just released).

You might try closing the app and reopening it to reset it. (Not sure if that's what you mean by restarting it). To do this, double click the button until you get the row of apps, and then click the x on the WordPress app.

If that doesn't work, the iOS forums are a good place to look for additional solutions or post your issue.

I am using the most recent version of the WordPress app. I am following several topics, but when I go to the Reader using the app, they are not updating. I will swipe down to try and manually update, but that does not work either. I have some topics that have the "most recent" post at 31 days.

I have tried restarting the app and my iPad, but now all of the topics are not updating. I have also checked my reader using the browser on my iPad and they are updating there, so it appears to be an issue with the app only.

Are you copying and pasting from Word (or other word-processing software)? You seem to have a lot of "junk" code which makes me this this is the case. If you want to work off-line in a word-processor-like program get WindowsLiveWriter. It's free and works well with WordPress.com.

If you must use a word processing program, then use the "Paste fro Word" button or "Paste as Plain Text" button on the visual editor:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2
see #5 and #6 in that link.

Word is a fine word processor, but it does a very poor job of formatting online.

I set my paragraphs to have a certain spacing pattern, yet, when I clicked publish, all the formatting was wacky. Lines were bold that weren't supposed to be. Spaces were missing in some places, and there were extra spaces in others. So I went back and fixed it...and when I updated it some things were fixed but then new areas had wrong formatting. I've updated at least 10 times and it just doesn't seem to be holding my changes.

Likes and shares are misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can "like" and "share" your posts in several locations such as the Reader without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat.
http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/07/09/wordpress-followers-likes-and-stats/

I choose to reduce my RSS Feed to "summary" here > Settings > Reading
For each article in a feed, show
Full text
Summary
Doing that compels followers to click in and read the full post on my blogs.

WordPress.com stats are not real time stats. that means they take time to update. Also as I posted above one does not need to click into your blog and create a page view stat to click a like button.

Why don’t post/page views add up to total views?
Post/page views are included in total views, but there are many views to your site that are not a post or page URL. The front pages, category/tag/date/author archives, and searches are all examples of other views that only count towards total views. http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#additional-info

I know people visit my blog because they are liking my posts but none of them show up on my daily stats or on the little bar at the top. The fact you had a browser issue re: viewing the stats does not in any way shape of form have an effect on the page views being recorded by the software.
