Hi there
The only thing is the image that i have tried to upload is tiny, and although it successfully uploads the image will not show.

2,448px × 3,264px
note the software scaled to down 430px × 574px so it would fit into the post.

The most common problem we see on this forum is causing by bloggers uploading HUGE oversized images from their cameras into their blogs.

Thanks i haven't had a problem in the past though, will the image not show if it is too big?

These are the accepted file types:
.jpg/.jpeg
.gif
.png

i tried to upload images to a blog post this afternoon and although i could attach the image it wouldn't show. Does anyone know what the issue is?

I don't know why you posted that code. We cannot use Javascript widgets on WordPress.com blogs for security reasons http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/ The only Facebook badge we can use on WordPress.com blogs is this one > http://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-badge/

The Image widget isn't an image uploader, it's just a simple utility that allows you to display an already uploaded image. To get an URL for your images, you upload them via Media > Add New (dashboard sidebar).

Note: some browsers or browser versions may not display the image correctly if the original you upload is wider than your sidebar. Ideally you should use an image editing application to downsize the image to the right pixel width before uploading it. For maximum widths see here:

Hi all,

I want to upload picture for my site. However, the widget keeps asking for a URL. Can I not just upload from my desktop? I am using the free version. Is that a problem?

.bmp files used to have security holes which is why we disallow their upload. Security comes first, everything else second.

Internet Explorer always saves my graphic files in bmp... and quite frankly my patience is wearing thin as I have to go on to Paint or Photoshop etc. to convert files to jpeg or jpg.

Typing '.jpg' or '.jpeg' on my saved files didn't work.... so BRING ON the bmps!!

I would but i see no trace of the picture in the libray.

I already rename all my pic to make sure i use a more conventional naming like no space, no accent etc....

My last resort will be to post witout picture then upload pic then reinsert..hoping this will work...

I once without knowing uploaded a png image and wondered why it took up so much image space in the media library. Then I saw that it was not jpg. So I took it to Paint and edited it so it would be jpg/jpeg. Maybe try a different picture or edit it to jpeg.

link to your blog?
Try this:
Delete the photo - or any traces therof - from your media library.
Rename image on your computer.
Upload again.

I try to post a new page using windows live write.

So far thing where fine, but since yesterday i can post my article because picture are not recognize (.PNG)

Any feedback? I would like to find if it is wordpress or My live writer that is anymore compatible?
