I'm asking some of my colleagues for more information on how the app works on the iPad - I'll keep you updated!

I have bene a long time WordPress.com (and .org) user for both a personal blog and another .org blog for my students/classes (high school). I recently received a class set of iPads (woot!) and we are loving them! However, I am considering the option of having students upload their work to a personal (school-related only) blog via the WordPress app. That way I can use an RSS reader to keep up with their latest course submissions. :D

I'm hoping someone can help with these questions I have.

1. The iPads are shared among 5 different classes. Is there a way to have someone log in/out of the app or does it always stay connect to each blog?

2. Can PDFs be uploaded via this app?

3. photos?

4. videos?

5. copy/paste links or word/pages/text?

Thank you so much for your help. I have used this app sparingly when I have forgotten to upload updates or the power/internet was out and I was updating my blog via my cell phone, but it hasn't always posted, etc. so I am hesitant.

IF you have another idea/way for kids to do the above via wordpress but with a different app that DOES these things, PLEASE let me know!

I get the little circle going back and forth from "connecting" to "waiting" and back to "connecting" again and again and nothing else happens.

I am running with the WP pro bundle and I was using a template called "Contempt" which I loved and which worked well for a long time - - I have since switched to "Quintus."

I uninstalled the firefox and installed it again but nothing changed.

I keep all my computer discs degragged and clean and I keep my cache cleared and it has always worked for me until today when it suddently stopped loading the blog on Firefox.

I must add that the blog works great on both Internet Explorer 9 and Google Chrome.

Is anyone else having similar problems and is there any advice that you might be able to give me?

I would be so sincerely appreciative.

I currently have firefox uninstalled but I will be willing to put it back up if there is something that someone can tell me that might make the blog work again.

Hi there - I'm sorry you're still having some issues with the new interface!

if I click on the photo in Chrome it just gets highlighted. The button to edit the photo's settings is there but not the dynamic resize handles. But they are there in Firefox.

This makes me both think you don't see the edit image icon, and that you do :) But I think what you mean is that you just don't see image resizing on the image itself. This is something that's web-kit-centric (web-kit is Firefox), so you will be able to use it in Firefox, but not in other browsers. It's one of those things that we are always chasing what the browsers are changing.

My other problem is that I'm sure WordPress used to offer me an largest image size which was the same as the column width but now it offers the full size of the image which then displays distoprted to fit the column.

Now, when you upload images, or add images to the post, you can edit the size right there in the Add Media interface (this was not the case just a few days ago - previously you had to go to your media library to make these edits). You'll see an "edit image" link next to the image thumbnail on the right. Using this functionality should help you not get distortion (it should do the calculation for you, in other words).

This should help get you started in the right direction, but let me know if you're still having difficulties with distortion.

I was able to add a post to your blog (set to private, so your users can't see it), and add images to it.

Will you check to see if you can see it? You can delete it, as well.

In the meantime, clear your cache again and see if that helps. You may want to test in Firefox or Chrome.

If you delete photos, they will delete from your posts. They have to be in your media library to be seen. A quick way to test is to get the link to one of your photos and send it to someone who isn't able to view your blog (or post it here). If your blog is private, no one without permission should be able to see the image. If they CAN, we need to investigate further. If they CAN'T we are all set!

Could you start a new thread, since that sounds like a different problem? I don't want other users who have the same problem as you to get lost on this thread :)

I use Chrome Version 23.0.1271.95, which is up to date. I run on a PC with Windows 7.

We are able to reproduce this problem, and we're looking into it.

sockmonkeyskitchen, I will investigate! If your blog is set to private, they shouldn't be viewable except by anyone with the invitation.
