I sure hope someone on the WP staff can help with this asap. I'm not comfortable sending out posts until the questions is answered, and I'm hesitant to purchase domain mapping if that won't take care of the issue, i.e. permit the secondary name (sophiesgift...) to be completely hidden to everyone but me as the admministrator

Will domain mapping of a domain I already own permit my blog's posts titles to appear attached to the domain name and NOT to the .wordpress.com name? My domain name, inspiritualwonder.us has been URL Forwarded by Dotster.com to my blog, sophiesgift.wordpress.com. However, when wanting to send out by email a link to the post, the recipient sees the wordpress.com address and not the inspiritualwonder.us address. Additionally, until three days ago this blog has been hosted elsewhere as a wordpress.org blog under the same name, inspiritualwonder.us. When there, the problem I'm recounting to you did not exist. A little more detail: I had to copy the .org one into a new wordpress.com because the host server was revamping and chose no longer to host my blog. While re-creating it at wp.com, the .org one under that name was still up and running, so I named the wp.com one "sophiesgift.wordpress.com" address. So, again, will purchasing domain mapping take care of my problem?

I have figured that part out to use an image widget but there is no place for me to add the blank option in so that when they hit that it will open up a new page. Is there a way to do that without having to write in HTML code?

Beyond that, for installation issues you really do need to get help at wordpress.org. Be patient. Sometimes it takes a few hours to get an answer there, sometimes a few days. Or weeks.

I am having a conflict between a wp.com site moving to wp.org - my attempts to set up the new admin keep defaulting to the wp.com dashboard - below is the message I posted at wp.org but no one is answering - maybe someone here knows how to override this admin problem. Thank you
__________________________

I have previously set up a blog [using wp.org] and went through the same steps [but installing it in the root folder] as the first time but am having a problem with a new blog on a different site.

The new site has a blog at wordpress.com. [entertainmenttodayandbeyond.com / aka chuckcurry.wordpress.com] They also have their own url/server with two subdomains - one named blog and a new one I named wp

At wordpress.com they paid to have the blog redirect to the blog sub-domain [which does not appear to have any cancellation option]. At the server both the root domain and the blog sub-domain forward to the wp.com blog.

I named the wordpress folder "wp" and uploaded to the wp sub-domain.

When I try to set-up admin it takes me to the wordpress.com dashboard. Is the problem with the forwarding? They don't want to have any of their current link backs affected so I don't want to release the domain forward unless it's the only way to fix the problem. I'm sure this must be something simple but??? Any ideas are appreciated

It doesn't seem like it is being forwarded. I changed the DNS server names on my registrar, and checked with them (register.com) and they seemed to think that would be sufficient and that I should check with wp.com. But I don't see anything happening. As I said above, if I click "put blog here" wp.com forwards to domain.org, but only to the "forbidden" blank screen. However, if I click again, no forwarding seems to occur.
