Hi! I went through your checklist (thank you!) and it still wouldn't show the video, but I could hear the audio fine when I was using Google Chrome.

I downloaded Mozilla Firefox and I can now watch the video!!!

So, since you can see the video on IE and I can on Firefox, it leads me to conclude that Google Chrome might be the problem. I went to whatbrowser.org and it says I am using Chrome 26, the most recent version. Any way I can fix this with Chrome?

Thanks!

Hi!

I have been trying to upload a video that is a little less than a minute. I am doing so on a MacBook Pro. It's a Quicktime Movie video and, when it finishes uploading, it seems fine. But then when I embed it into the site, and click play, there is grey in place of my video. I can still hear the audio crystal clear.

When I was reading one of the forums, I saw something about adding a Media Element Plugin, so I did so, uploaded the video again and I'm still having the same issue. Please tell me what to do to fix the video.

Thank you!

Kind Regards,
Jillian

Aha! Well, I'm glad I could help you sort it out!

It still kind of looks like you have some extraneous code in there for some reason (actually, that indicates a bad cut/paste might be the original culprit). Try viewing that same page again, and make sure to click the Text tab at the top right of the edit area.

I see this:

[wpvideo lwuMzeOv w=640<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 26px; font-weight: bold;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 13px; font-weight: normal;">]</span></span>

But it should be this:

[wpvideo lwuMzeOv w=640]

Watch out for that kind of thing in the future, it could definitely cause similar sizing troubles (or other unexpected troubles) if you have extra HTML sneaking into your pastes.

Yeah, the Jetpack plugin doesn't include the upload option, but it does include the embed option.

You can still upload via Media -> Add New in your WordPress.com blog's Dashboard and obtain the embed code from there.

Is there any improvement with the embedded video with Jetpack?

Hi - According to support, I can change the width of the video in the shortcode in edit. However, if I update, the code changes back to default. Do I have to re-load the videos in order to change the shortcode?

hi,

it seems to me that videopress startet delivering their pages (at least the login page) with a x-frame-origin header of "SAMEORIGIN". This is a problem for selft hosted blogs that only use videopress through the plugin. The plugin opens a popup that includes an iframe that should display the login page but does not anymore since the above header nicely asks the browser to not display it.

is there any way around this? this seems really badly broken...
