You need to be logged in as the EXACT user / account that owns the domain name registration to renew it - emails are sent to the email address of record for any upgrade before the renewal date

Do you have a second account you might have used or did another account buy the domain name originally?

I am the administrator for the website: sspropmanagement.com

I have called Wild West Domains and they have assured me this has to be re-registered through WordPress.com. I received an email from WP saying my domain needs to be renewed; I click the button to go to my admin page and renew my domain, but it says that my username does not exist. If this helps: when I login to my website admin, it says my custom URL at the top, and above my information it just says "WordPress" (no ".com" or ".org").

I have read through the forums and my admin page does not, for whatever reason, have the "store" menu where I can upgrade my domain and have it automatically renew...I think I have given all the information that you'll need, hopefully someone can help.

Reading the instructions in the article it looks like they have now made deleting the old address optional, and given you the option of buying the site redirect upgrade. I haven't tried it myself though!

And by the way, doing that procedure means you can NEVER use the old URL again. I recommend instead simply creating a new blog from Manage My Blogs and then setting the old one to Private. You can export content out of that and import it to the new one easily from the dashboard Tools page.

Hi there, you're talking about changing your URL (which technically, is a subdomain of wordpress.com.)

So firstly, I'm not even sure if I have my lingo down correctly. When wordpress asks you to name yourwebsite, "__________.wordpress.com" this is your... domain name, is it?

Anyway, I didn't put any thought into mine and then I realized that any bloke on the internet who can google my name will find my blog. I don't want that to happen, so I want to pick a new domain name or else delete the website I have without having to scrap my account entirely. How do I do this?

Hello! I cannot tell if my website is not properly loading because of my laptop (issue on my end) or if it is an issue with my site in general. Would someone please check it and see how it loads for them? I just installed a new theme this morning.

When I open my site in Internet Explorer, the theme looks all out of whack. When I open it in Mozilla, it looks like it should. I tried opening it on my iPhone (safari) and using Google Chrome, and those two look all jumbled and messed up as well.

WordPress.com does not accept domain transfers. If you already have a domain that you registered elsewhere, and you want to map that domain to your blog there is a domain mapping upgrade.

I have two blogs with WordPress but I'm wanting to actually use WordPress for my actual business websites (I have two).
First, how can I transfer my domains from where they are (JustHost and GoDaddy) to WordPress so everything is in one place? Or do you not do domain registrations?
Second, is WordPress versatile enough to be a dynamic website that doesn't look like someone's blog?
Any support you can give, I would appreciate it. I'm a very small business trying to grow.

Try just leaving it in place for a few hours. Weather widgets can be tricky and it could be there's no current info for Bath. Check again in the morning; if you have a private Test blog, that's a good use for it, since nobody will see the widget.

As you can see, the location is right so I'm so confused :( I've been working on this for 3 or 4 hours now.

If you can get the Accuweather one to work, you just need to change your inputs at Accuweather itself to get the right location, assuming indeed that it has the correct location in its database.

There is a Bath, NY that is likely what it is pulling. My suggestion is to use the wunderground link above and choose station select. There are a couple of stations that are nearish to Bath (amherstville and amherst island).

In the sticket's html code, you'll see a line of "ForcedCity=Kingston", change that to Bath and the sticker's label will change.

It appears that there isn't a local weather observation station in Bath proper, at least that's public online.

Alright so I figured out how to get Accuweather up but it's saying New York, not Bath. Both the original and short code says "BATH" but the sticker say New York.

The best I could do for ya was wunderground.com's weather sticker for Kingston, ON. ( http://www.wunderground.com/stickers/?query=zmw:00000.1.71620 ). You can copy/paste the HTML code into a text widget.

I based that on Bath being part of Loyalist, ON and the Loyalist website having a weather badge for Kingston.

Hey
I know there are certain code you can and cannot use for weather widgets, but I need to find a site that is ok for WordPress and says the weather for Bath, Ontario. Underworld Weather doesn't have it, Accuweather doesn't have it, and a few other places I've tried don't have it.
Please help.

Posts always go on the Post page. Static pages are the opposite of the Post page. They do not update and Posts don't go there. You can simply tell your blog to open on a particular Static page and designate a different place for the Posts to go. Do that under Settings->Reading.

Hey everybody!

I am fairly new to WordPress and am still learning my way around here. I decided to use WordPress as a webpage for my ghostwriting business, so I have several tabs (pages). I want to have a page (other than the home page) for traditional blogs, but I have not found a way to do this. If I click "create post" it seems to post to the home page by default. Any ideas on how to change this?

What you're asking for is a new site design or a new theme. There isn't a simple or easy way to make a different theme look like the one you linked—doing something like that would take some time and work.

If you'd like to start from the beginning and you're new to CSS, I would recommend looking at basic CSS tutorials as a start:

So what would you change it to?? No blogs can be deleted? - need a Super Admin to delete? - (then how do you determine who the super Admin is?) No Posts and Pages can be deleted? After all someone might delete something by accident
