A yes , in the mean time I created a child and that seemed to fix the issue! Might have been from the 3.5.1 up date but this way updates won't effect what is on the site - at least that is what I am told.

I'm experimenting with the Twenty Twelve theme and it appears that at some point during my futzing, I somehow lost the white space buffer/border between the text portion and the background.

You'll note that my texts, menus, and images bleed off the middle section into the background.

I have not altered the css in any way myself. I have been through every option in the left-hand menu multiple times and can find nothing which would "restore" the original setting somehow.

HI everybody,

I have tried various suggestions to diminish the amount of white space between my header body text but nothing has seemed to work. I have a custom menu set up so that I don't have any page titles. Could this be the problem?

To make the header area smaller in the Imbalance 2 theme, add this to your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS editor:

#header {
	padding-bottom: 0;
}

#branding {
	min-height: 0;
}

I see that you hid the tagline in the Forever theme using the following CSS:

}

Hello, I'm having some problems with Splendio's showcase slider too...

The text of the featured posts in the slider aren't being formatted show paragraph breaks. Also, the pictures included in each post aren't being shown in the slider either. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong...?

I don't believe there is a way to do that without purchasing purchasing an annually renewable custom design upgrade and doing the required CSS editing.

Ah, apparently I didn't search hard enough... I found the answer on my own, so to sarahlucywilliams, enter this code into your custom CSS form:

}
That should do it! Worked for me!

I am using the "Forever" theme but I don't use the tagline option, which gives me a gap of about 150px between my "pages buttons" and the main body of my blog, where the tagline would be if I used one.

Is there any way to eliminate this space all together? I do have the custom CSS option, but I'm not great with CSS, so if there is some coding I could enter that would rid me of this stupid white space, that'd be great!

The site looks great! I think Blaskan really shines.

To answer your original question, you can adjust the spacing below the header image by adding the following to your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS editor:

#header figure {
	margin-bottom: 0;
}

Adjust the "0" number to something like "15px" to add space back in if that removes too much.

It is possible without the upgrade, but it's a bit complicated (it requires a bit of trickery with a custom menu, and bit of trickery with code). If you're interested, I can give you instructions.

Or you can post in the Themes forum (which is monitored by the WP theme team) and suggest they improve things. Check the theme demo:

If you click on the three menu items (which link to samples of the three page templates the theme supports), you'll see that the Archives page template doesn't have the same excessive gap, so the theme definitely needs some correcting.

Hi, is there a way to change the header white space on the Manifest theme without custom CSS? I'm using only pages, not posts, on http://lindsaymayka.com/, and the gap between the menu and the header seems too large to have been designed that way. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
