There's not really a ton you can do to style dropdowns like those. Sorry about that! Yes, I did remove it. In the end, the group decided blog archives are just not important to our site. Old news is dead news to us... We've found other ways to highlight older content that's still useful.

I'm not sure whether I should mark this as resolved. I would certainly welcome finding the answer, even if it may not be used for this particular site...

I got the archive widget dropdown to work but I can't seem to figure out how to change the colors while hovering over the different options. I've tried adding a and hover properties to the list and to the options, but neither of those seemed to work. I'll keep plugging away at it but if anyone has any advice in the meantime, that would be great.

For an idea of what I mean, check out how the Search widget is styled just below. Both are in the footer widget areas.

Also, while I'm at it, I'd like to change the color of the two scroll bars (and the slider buttons) which are also in the footer widget areas.
