The website is selfhosted, yet the error doesn't come from my host but it's something that used to be provided by the ".com" platform. (Or maybe I am totally wrong?)

Since some days now, I have a problem on my website and it seems I am not the only one.

When I try to browse some pages of my website, the following file should be loaded : https://widgets.wp.com/languages/fr_FR.json
Unfortunately, I am getting an error 404 notifying me that the file doesn't exists.
Because of this file which cannot be loaded, the layout of the webpage is not like it's supposed to be.

After some researches, I found those 2 posts describing the same problem:

It seems the folded widgets.wp.com/languages doesn't contain what it used to. Did this folder moved or has been deleted and what can we do to fix the problem?

If you are still seeing this on your site, you are probably viewing a cached version of your site.

So you can try a hard refresh:
Windows: Ctrl + F5
Mac/Apple: Apple + R or Cmd + R
Linux: F5

If that doesn't work, you'll need to try and clear the browser's cookies and cache:

Clearing your browser’s cache

Your best be at learning about the WordPress.COM stuff is to go through http://learn.wordpress.com/ and the support documents http://en.support.wordpress.com/ .And make sure what you are reading or watching is about WordPress.com. The forums contain a wealth of knowledge so make sure you search them since they contain a lot of answers. If you have more questions feel free to ask!

In several of the videos they search for and add new themes. Can I do this or are the themes that show up in my list the only ones that I have available?

Likewise, they search for and add widgets. Can I do this or am I limited to the widgets that are shown on the widgets page?

Here is a page that has a general structure that I would like to emulate http://www.ddavisstoryteller.com. If anyone knows of a theme that will get me close to this I would love to know about it.

I'm sure that I will have a seemingly endless set of questions following these.

For my blog. I have been changing the template so that our archives and facebook likes can be in the sidebar. In the widgets it says sidebar and i make sure to select sidebar. But for some reason its only showing up at the very bottom of our site.

We started with the Theme Balloons and we're now using SemPress. Why is it that this template seems to be taking on the Balloons format when we're trying to change what we do not like? What do I have to do in order for the sidebar to be the sidebar and not a footer. Remember. In widgets it says it is a sidebar. But its not.

Thanks for your help. Hopefully Someone may know the answer. I worry we have to delete and restart.
