I am using Internet Explorer 9.0. Not sure why I keep having a problem but I am not very techie so I was probably doing something wrong but I am not sure what. Thanks so much for creating the form for me. I really appreciate it.

What browser and browser version are you using? That may be why you are having problems.

I was able to create a contact form in a draft post for you called 'Contact Form from WordPress.com Support'. I then copied and pasted that form into a Text Widget called 'Contact Form from WordPress.com Support'.

You can modify either one of those to suit you needs if you wish.

Unfortunately the shortcodes for the Contact Form are overwritten on themselves and when I try to copy and paste only a portion of the shortcode is copied and pasted. This limited amount of shortcode is not enough to create a contact form. How do I get the shortcodes to write a single line per code instead of piling on top of each other. I have tried several times and each time the piling on occurs. Thank you.

I can't find any post or page in your blog containing the Contact Form shortcodes.

To create one and display it in the sidebar, please do the following:

1. Add a new post or page and create the form in it.

2. Copy all the contact form code (you don't need to save the post or page)

3. Go to Appearance>Widgets, drag a new Text widget to your sidebar and paste the code you copied on step 2

I have reviewed your tutorial on adding a Contact Form to my blog twice but I am having problems. I have added the Contact Form using Add a New Post. I have customized the form and clicked on Add the Form to my Post button. Then the box in the middle of the screen displays a single line with lots of text overwritten on itself. Then I can\'t find the Contact Form anywhere on my site or dashboard. I want to have the Form appear on my sidebar as a clickable option for my readers but I just seem to be doing something wrong. Help! Thanks!

If it doesn't work, I will just try to rever back to the initial installation of wordpress.

It looks like your WordPress install is missing or has corrupt versions of some core files.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_file_data() in /home/content/u/m/a/umadoshi/html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/jetpack.php on line 278

This is for Jetpack trying to call a core WordPress function - get_file_data which is defined in wp-includes/functions.php.

It sounds like during the upgrade of your WordPress install some files got corrupted. The best thing to do is to replace the wp-includes/functions.php file with a new version and see if this resolves the error or a new one appears.

You can do this by downloading the zip file for your WordPress version from here: http://wordpress.org/download/release-archive/ and then uploading the file using FTP.

I am hosted at GoDaddy.com, and have performed a wordpress update on their system... that might very well be the fatal error... however, the blog was working properly... and now it returns the following:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_file_data() in /home/content/u/m/a/umadoshi/html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/jetpack.php on line 278

I have deleted jetpack plugin, downloaded the latest version, and uploaded it to the proper location on the FTP server. The error remains.

I am using CreativeSpark theme.

Here is the code that supposedly is causing the error:

If the code they provides contains <form> tag, that code cannot be inserted into WordPress.com site. For security reasons, we remove some tags from posts, pages and text widgets:

You may want to try linking to an external form page instead.

I\'m trying to add a bit of code from my Etsy online store to my blog\'s sidebar to make an \"Etsy mini,\" a block of images from my online store. I am trying to add it to the \"text\" widget. But every time I add it and hit save, the code gets shortened and only the actual code is visible on my blog, not the images that I\'m trying to add.

The code I\'m trying to paste in is:

I have been following the directions to add a Constant Contact sign up on our blog. I tried it thru the text widget but the HTML is not activating.
Since I am not privately hosting my site I can\'t use their plugin either.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Mike, thanks for getting in touch. That widget is actually a plugin for WordPress.org sites. We don't allow plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons.
