I want to use the "Forever" theme, when I try to customize it (change colors, background, header....etc), a black side bar appears and it doesnt PRESS. When I click, nothing happens, nothing appears!!!

Then you can copy and paste the code from the Text editor in the draft post into the text widget and delete the draft post.

The editor box will remain where I put it, until I post.
Every new post requires that I resize the editor box.

The vertical scroll bar becomes very small.

How can I restore the short length of the editor?
I like the tool bar at the top edge and the bottom of the editing window at the bottom of the browser window.

It just takes too long to shorten the window on every post.
It wasn't like this, in the beginning, so I don't know if it is operator error.

Every time I add an Image to this "Featured Image" it is clickable, opens in a new window showing the image only, and is annoying the hell out of me. I want it to do nothing. From the blog, clicking on the image should open the post. From within the post, the image should not be clickable.

When I originally add the image to the post, when the window pops up that allows you to edit the Name, Caption, Description, Etc...I always click the "NONE" option for the "LINK URL". It removes the link from the box. I then click "Use as featured image". I then click to save the changes. Even if I choose "Attachment Post URL" it still happens.

Im using a wootheme. When I switch to the 2010 theme there is no image to test so I switched back. I disabled all of my plugins and its still acting the same.

What does open in a new window mean?

It means that when a person click the link on your blog it opens in another window. It's used to compel users to stay on the site rather than clicking the links and clicking out of your site.

How to set links to open in a new window
Blogroll
Dashboard > Links > Edit / Add new >
Advanced settings > Target (check the blank option)

Posts and Pages (using the link button to create them)
Select “Open link in a new window” from the dropdown before inserting the link. You can also go back and edit old links and check the “Open link in a new window” checkbox and then re-save the link.

Images
You upload the image, click File URL, insert it, then click on the image (in the visual editor), click on the edit button (mountain icon), click “Advanced Settings”, scroll down to “Target”, tick “Open link in a new window”, click Update, click Update Post.

Or, you upload the image, click File URL, insert it, then in the html editor add this to the image code (after href… etc… jpg, with a space before it):

target=”_blank”

With the advent of CSS3, you can also make links open in new tabs in browsers that support CSS3 using the following code:target="new"
style="target-name: new; target-new:
tab;"

Apart from this and an issue with cascading permissions down to "sub-blogs", Wp.com is the perfect solution. That's another post however.
