I recognize your name from reading other forum threads and trust your advice. I am overjoyed to see that my wordpress.org blog hosted at OpenShift.com looks and behaves just like a regular wordpress.com blog. Very comforting.

Next, I am going to look into woothemes.com/woocommerce for -my e-commerce toolkit.

New site is https://blog-wildersoul.rhcloud.com/ although there is not much to see there yet, it really was very easy to set up. And all free!

Thanks for your help. :)

Hello WordPress Support Staff, and Volunteers

I have a free online Colouring Book at wildersoul.wordpress.com, and I want to set up a companion blog for selling higher quality pictures for people to colour. At least 300dpi.

My ideas of how to set it up are at http://wildersoul3.wordpress.com/2013/04/12/my-strange-day/

It includes setting up a private blog, and people pay a membership fee to enter the blog and download the pictures. The payments would be arranged via email and a PayPal invoice. (No PayPal button as I have not had $5000 go through my account yet.)

If this is not possible, then I would consider creating some sort of order form, and emailing the pictures individually to each person.

All of the pictures are originals created by me. The 90dpi pictures are under Creative Commons license on my wildersoul.wordpress.com blog.

If this works well, I may wish to add other original artworks or photographs, writing, poetry, or even audio or video files to a private blog in the same manner. Possibly the same blog if it works well.

Thank you in advance for your advice and support. :)

We don't allow plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons. Plugins are a feature only available for self-hosted blogs provided through WordPress.org. You can find out more about this topic here: http://support.wordpress.com/plugins/

For more information on the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, please see: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

As for themes, they can't be uploaded to WordPress.com. That's a feature of self-hosted blogs through WordPress.org.

How do I install the Woocommerce plug in to my website? I found a video explanation and it says to go through the "plug in" tab, but I don't have one. I am eventually trying to upload my Templatic theme, and I'm having trouble with that also. Any help would be appreciated as I've been trying to figure this out for a while now.

Thank you for the information. This method of doing things – using wordpress functionality to add content (together with Genesis) makes it easier to “modularize” a website for multiple projects. I’m quote obsessed with website customization but not at the expense of ease of use and installation. I’m now a fan and looking forward to more links or resources pertaining to this strategy.
