The only themes you can use on free hosted WordPress.com blogs are the 208 found here > Dashboard > Appearance > Themes

There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install plugins, upload third-party themes or edit templates or themes. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

I purchased a theme from another site (themify) and would like to install it for my wordpress blog. The guide provided by themify doesn't match what I have on screen. Do I need to purchase the custom design upgrade to install external themes? Or am I missing where I am supposed to go?
