It would be useful to see the "lines of stuff" in between the divs. It is possible that it contains code that is not allowed on wordpress.com sites. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/

If you can post the full code, put it between back tick characters as shown in the notes to the left of the box where you type your reply.

Hi, I have my travel blog at guntherandkara.com hosted by wordpress with a custom domain. I also have a map of my travels at travellerspoint.com and would like to add that map to the sidebar as a widget similar to what I've seen on other blogs. I added a text widget and pasted in the code I copied from travellerspoint (it starts <div and has a couple of lines of stuff finishing with div>) for embedding the map but instead of getting a little map on the page when it is loaded I get a link to the map at travelers point. I also tried just putting in the direct http:// url of the map but that doesn't display at all.
Does anybody know how to do this? What I would like is to get a small image showing the map and clicking on the image opens a new page with the map from travellerspoint. I'm using the Twenty Ten theme.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
