Using Box Office Theme from fabdesigns.

I have my menu working and thought it would be neat to try to put the number of items the link refers to next to the desciptor.

For Example,
Genre:
Action (34)
Comedy (10)

I was able to locate some code that may be what I am looking for, but am still new to php. It was using the list categories function, I also thought list taxonimy code would work.

Trouble is the menu seems to be built in a loop and I think I would have to recreate it to do what I want.

Can someone provide some insight? Thank you!
