Want to change the editor interface slightly.

Could button open an external site through a thickbox iframe in order to retrieve an 'embed code' for a media file?

I understand the possibilities of modifying the quick-tags buttons. This is somewhat different.

Does anyone know of a plugin that does this function?

Any feedback/insight is much appreciated.
