What if I switch my WordPress.com site to be hosted through GoDaddy.com? I'm willing to pay a little extra but I want to continue with my WordPress site but be able to make $$$. Thanks.

There is only one advertising program called WordAds at WordPress.com and it’s for blogs on their own domains. This is the homepage for the WordAds program: http://www.wordads.co/ Aside from a blog being accepted into WordAds, no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work or products created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted wordpress.com blogs. E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by wordpress.com

Thank you for your response, but really? I can't believe WordPress does that. So, now this brings about my next question. How do I switch my blog over to Blogger so that I can advertise? Is that difficult to do? I am getting sick of not being able to make money off of my blog because of WordPress, and I know Blogger allows advertising.

You got it - you can't do your own ads and affiliate links are not allowed

Hi, I've been accepted by Amazon.com Associates to advertise on my blog. The problem is, when I try to add the widgit, instead of it displaying as an Amazon Search Box on my website, it simply just says the words "Amazon.com Widgit," which is not what I want. I have been using the "text" widgit because I didn't know which widgit from WordPress to use. Can someone tell me which widgit would make the Amazon Search Box display on my site properly? Or can someone tell me if WordPress.com just doesn't allow their bloggers to use advertisements? I'm not sure if this helps, but I do own my own domain. I am starting to get very frustrated with this, so I would appreciate all the help I can get.
