I've never had a problem before today. I like it because you can super easily link to your own posts and outside sites. I got it to work today but ONLY by switching to the Text view when I added the links.

I don't understand why it suddenly has stopped working....

I do what's in this guide to for creating links in posts and pages: http://en.support.wordpress.com/links/
This is the general link model:
<a href="URL HERE">Highlighted anchor text here</a>
This is the result Highlighted anchor text here
Highlighted anchor text here

Enter the anchor text you want to link to first.
Then use your mouse to highlight that anchor text.
Next click the chain icon in the editor and proceed to create the link.

I click the add link icon and nothing happens. I add links to all of my posts so this is a real problem for me. How do I get the link button to work again?
