I realize that this sounds simple but I am new to this and can't seem to find a forum or any information that matches my current situation.

The website has 10 categories on the top. When I click on new post, there are only 7. So I then proceed to add new category. When I do this, the post created fro this new category goes into uncategorized. When I go to the website, the post is not in the category that I created and then left a check next to it in the new post window. How do I manually map a post to the correct category?
