Hmmm ... you have referred to plug-ins...
As your name is not yet linked to a blog here I cannot tell if you are a wordpress.com member addressing a wordpress.com isssue or if you have downloaded a free wordpress blog to your own server. If it's the latter then the following the instructions below will not apply to your blog as the code bases for the themes are very different. In that case if you have a blog on your own server you would need to be over here http://wordpress.org/support

But if it is a wordpress.com blog that your are referring to then what follows should help you sort this. There is a "Recent Posts" widget. To make it functional you must drag and drop it into your sidebar. The "Recent Posts", Recent Comments and Top Posts widgets are automatically updating widgets. Once you drag and drop them into the sidebar and save the changes there's nothing else you need to do.
-> dashboard -> presentation -> sidebar widgets -> available widgets -> drag and drop it into the sidebar widget area -> click save changes
This may be of help to you.

There is no "recent entries" widget, and I am currently using the default theme. Is there a theme you know of that has this?

If it did have this recent entries widget, what would I do with it? Do I just put the code in the html file I want it to show in?

There should be a "Recent Entries" widget, if your sidebar doesn't have that permanently in the template. Take a look at the template under PRESENTATION and see if they have such a sidebar feature already; I'm thinking it will have that. Then you just need to put entries up and they'll automatically show up.

Hello everyone!

I am creating a global warming awareness website and I have set up a wordpress blog to serve as the news component of the site. I would like to display the titles of my wordpress entries on a small sidebar on my main page. How do I do this? Is there some code anyplace I can use? Maybe RSS is something that does this, I am not very familiar with RSS.

If there is a particular plugin I can use, can someone direct me to it?

Thank you so much for reading this! I would greatly appreciate the help.

-Walter
