Well, you certainly could have subdomains like blog.example.com and such, but http://www.example.com has really never been a subdomain. It's always been another version of example.com, making it redundant, and leading to the recent movement to stop using it.

At this time, we have no plans to re-introduce www.

and that's true, not arguing with that, you can easily make it what you will assuming browsers will know what to do with it I could make http://mnd.mydigitaltravels.com work instead of www.

In fact I think this is how subdomains sort of work, same concept but I'm not saying stripping the WWW is good or bad, but I'm not used to seeing a website without it that's all and it would be cool to allow a user to keep the WWW part but that might complicate things.

We actually strip out the www. for your convenience, and http://www.mydigitaltravels.com/ will always redirect to http://mydigitaltravels.com/

www is an old protocol from back when everything was under separate server hardware. www (www.example.com) was the web server, mail (mail.example.com) was the mail server, ftp (ftp.example.com) was the FTP server, print (print.example.com) was the print server, etc.

These days, everything is run under the web server, making www. redundant and a waste of four characters.

Please let us know if you have any more questions!

I have custom domain subscription, and would like to know if there is any way to add www. to my domain rather than seeing http://mydomain.com
