I've made one account private and changed the link to hanwellnest. That's fine for now as atleast my comments are linked to my active blog. But, can I make hanwellnest the primary blog that I login too? Or would I have to
upgrade the whole domain?

Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

This change is not retroactive. The blog linked to in comments you made previously will not change. Only the new comments you leave will be linked to the "new" primary blog after you make that change.

I've made it the primary blog but does anyone know how to change the login so I'm commenting from the blog that people are reading.

If you have changed the primary blog linked to your username that ought to be the one that it's linked to now. http://tarakings.wordpress.com/ Is that your primary blog on the Settings > General page or not?
