the CSS upgrade is not recommended to those who do not have CSS editing experience;
there is no Staff support for learning CSS editing;
only a couple of volunteers dedicate their free time to helping others on an infrequent basis - free of charge;
if you want a professional web design job "something original rather than just one of the standard templates" then you have to pay for it and those services are not "cheap".

I know Devblog knows CSS for WP.com inside and out, but I'm not sure if he's taking on new clients now and not sure what his rate is. Do you have any idea how much professional designers charge?

I would like to move to a 3 column blog (possibly one of the sandbox ones) and I have purchesed the CSS upgrade but I have no idea how to go about doing anything with it. I would like something original rather than just one of the standard templates.

Does anyone know any blog designers who could do this for me? I am willing to pay (although I don't have a huge budget).
